Really beautiful and peaceful place with painted wall. Interesting (for children) story of st. George's life. Fruit tree garden. Near to the main road. Worth to see.

This small working monastery is a delight to visit. The church is so small, but beautifully decorated and we were fortunate to witness a baptism when we were there.

Active monastery - while a few tourist stroll through the grounds - vegetable garden, and a few chickens - an old gentleman goes about his daily chores tending the garden. In the small church a priest is reading from the Scriptures ... what a blessed experience. For a few minutes the members of the monastery "allow" you to have a peek into their daily lives...

The St George monastery, founded in 19th century, is said to be the only working monastery on Bukgarian coast. There are four monks in the monastery. They produce rakiya and wine, which are believed to have curative effects. You can also drink or take with you in a bottle water from a spring located in the monastery's tower.
The building is small and modest, there is not much to see. The beautiful wall paintings and the wine and rakiya which are sold in the monastery make the place worth seeing.

Working monestry, very quiet, peaceful and quaint. A hidden Jewel in an otherwise dull area. There were monks gardening and washing their clothes outside. Homegrown products available to buy and free roaming animals. Pleasant and humbling.

We stayed the a local hotel and passed this place on the way to a local supermarket.
We popped in and were delighted to get a slice of genuine Bulgaria. You can go in the chapel and around the grounds and it does have an atmosphere. It might be useful to read up a bit about the Orthodox church in Bulgaria (a little will do) but it makes a nice break from just lying on the beach.

I was born in this place, inside the Monastery is a healing spring water, the monks produce own wine and drinks from the grapes around. Good to step by for your soul and body-cheers.

Peaceful. Enjoyed the paintings on the walls, old church inside. Walked round the gardens. Nice and flat. Worth a visit.

It's a lovely place to walk around, it's a little hilly, but if you stroll and take your time it's great.
