Molsbroek that is a nature reserve in my hometown, protected by a few authorities: no noise, no waste, no hunting, no fishing, no motorised traffic etc.
Molsbroek covers 80 Ha (don't know how many acres that is) and it is easy to find: walk/cycle from the railwaystation to the market and look for a signboard: "Molsbroek"
Personaly I don't recommend walking around Molsbroek; I prefer cycling.
The path to and around Molsbroek is well maintained. If ever you don't know a single thing about fauna, flora and momos, just join a free guided tour every first Sunday of the month, starting at he Visitor's center at 2.30pm , The visitor's centre is easy to find.
If you'd like to do Molsbroek on you own you will be guided (4.8 kilometers) by 20(twenty!) notice-boards and binaculars. In Winter you can watch rare birds getting food from behind a fence: you can see the birds, the birds can not see you.
Twelve years ago I cycled with Singaporean visitors around Molsbroek after 10pm, it was freezing 3°; we were in the heart of darkness, there was absolute silence and there was fog.
I remember we were armed with flaslight and a bottle of whiskey...
After 20 minutes, a lady who took the lead stopped and said: "there is a momo behind the tree, I go back to your home..." Yeah, I know there are momos also in Molsbroek, but mainly in Winter at around midnight after you drank a half bottle of whiskey...(translation, "momo=ghost"
But Wintertime is the best time to walk/cycle around Molsbroek. DO!

It's nice to walk there. All nature. And in the cottage 'het houten huis' there is the possibility to drink something.

Could need a bit more light in winter but otherwise perfect running spot for our workout, very resourceful and clean.

This is a small nature reserve, very close to the Markt of Lokeren. As a result it is rather popular with locals, and at times can get quite busy. There is 1 route, for bikers and pedestrians, that makes a loop on the outskirts of the reserve, although part of the path goes more into the reserve. Most of the area are meersen, meaning they flood during winter, making this a popular place with birds. There is a bird feeding station, where I spotted a rabbit stealing some of the bird food. There is also a small café with small exhibition about what there is to see. The paths are well maintained, and fit for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

A lovely peaceful nature reserve with a track that winds around a central lake. Plenty of bird life as well as rabbits and other animals in abundance. The area is well maintained by the local council and popular with locals. The only problem are the lycra clad cyclists who seem to think they own the place and expect walkers to jump out of the way when they come speeding past. On the positive side it is amusing to laugh at them in their little matching outfits :-)

we've spent a great afternoon cycling around. Everything is so quiet and the trails are in good condition. There is a small bar at the main entrance, but we hadn't time to visit it.

Nice area for a long walk. Many different birds, nice wild flowers. It's a shame they keep the level of the water so low. Sometimes you see many dead fish ... but maybe keeping the level of the water has its reasons (birds, plants, ...)??
