Strolling around the island of Mykonos we came across this little paradise called Megali Ammos. The beach is calm, peaceful, ideal for those who want to rest and relax. The water is crystal clear, but cold even in September. There is a good infrastructure to spend the day, but you pay to have this comfort.

Such a peaceful unspoilt beach. Especially the large side of the beach that's dedicated to guests of Mykonos Bay Hotel. Here you can enjoy private sun loungers. Towels. Waiting service. Comfy giant bean bags and swing chairs. It's really quiet and private just before the tourist season begins properly.

This is the beach in front of our hotel. While it is nice the waves can be rough because of the wind and the oven is very rocky. Some people don't mind at all but it bothers others.

it is not far from the city... not more than 15 minutes walk from the center, but on the way you risk your life, because of enormous car traffic done by locals and tourists, which ride fastly the completely open and unlit road without sides ... in result you receive standard, a bit dirty beach ...it is better to forget it ...

This is THE WORST BEACH YOU COULD EVER GO TO!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT go here!!!! We went thinking it would be a nice beach day close to Mykonos town but the entire beach is covered in sharp sharp coral 6 of my family members (my whole group) got terrible cuts all over our bodies with some requiring stitches. Please save yourself and your body from harm! Do not come here !

Great for families or singles/couples, because the beach is narrow and the sea is very calm and shallow, plus restaurants are meter's away, so everything is nice and compact, but not too fussy either.

A nice sandy beach which is very close to the town centre. But be careful as you have to walk over rocks to get into the sea. If you are not heading to the bigger beaches on the south coast (Psarou, Paradise, uper Paradise or Elia) this offers a nice and quiet swimming area with a lot fewer people. The extra point goes to Joanna's and Nikos' Taverna who put out sun-loungers/shade which are free if you are their patron (and their food is amazing and well priced). You only need to buy one drink if you don't want to spend too much.
But if it's a windy day the water can be quite choppy and you'd be better going to one of the other beaches mentioned above.

This beach was the closest to our hotel so we walked town. We wanted to rent two beach chairs, they belonged to the hotel so it cost us 20 Euro a chair. I thought this was alot for a quieter beach. It did give us access to the hotel facilities such as pool, bar, restaurant and bathrooms.
The sand is coarse here. Too early for comfortable swimming in the ocean. All in all its a nice start for a simple beach day.

Our hotel was close to this beach and it is refreshing in that we just needed to walk down. There are no services on this beach, no beach umbrellas or beds or bars which was great after a week of sub bed hawkers. Bring your own everything.

Whilst not a large beach with all the trimmings this is a welcome oasis from the busy activities of the town.
Shop & Restaurants are close by as are 2 hotels with swimming pool facilities
