- yiannavaNicosia, Cyprus93 contributionsBeautiful setting. A nice spot in Mykonos for sunset dinner or coctailsThis array of beautifully coloured houses built literally in the sea can be best enjoyed and photographed from the windmills. Also there are very nice cosy bars for a night coctail or breakfast. Good fish tavernas and restaurants but be prepared to pay a little extra for the beautiful setting and view. Be aware that this is a very windy sea front.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 7, 2023
- SimonNSLondon, United Kingdom197 contributionsQuaint streets and buildingsThe quaint pretty streets and buildings in the Little Venice area of Mykonos Town are well worth a visit. Be cautious of some of the bars because the prices of drinks can be expensive. We checked a few before going inside and found a sea front bar that was reasonable value. I love the way that the buildings are painted regularly to keep them white and bright. The windmills provide good photo opportunities, especially with cocktail or two.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 29, 2023
- JJJourneysSingapore, Singapore2,543 contributionsCharming district of MykonosTake a nice stroll through this charming district in Mykonos, which has very lovely paved streets. Almost every corner is a nice photo opportunity. I did find the place to be a bit touristy, with its many designer shops, but overall, the vibe was pretty chill and no one was aggressively touting or anything. Do stop by the seaside area between the buildings and the iconic windmills during sunset, it makes for pretty nice lighting and views!Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 30, 2023
- Scottish-Hidden-Gems🏴💎Ayrshire, United Kingdom9,413 contributionsLittle veniceLittle Venice is such a beautiful little place, it did remind me of being in Venice for a moment. It is extremely busy with crowds, especially when cruise ships are docked but its definitely worth stopping for a moment. We stopped here to enjoy some gelato, we were hoping to meet Pedro the pelican but he wasn't anywhere to be seen.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 10, 2023
- Thomas VOakland, California18,418 contributionsCan be Swarming with TouristsThis is one of the prettiest parts of town. Some of the restaurants and bars along the street have terraces that look out to sea. But be prepared, the area can be swarming with tourists, depending upon the weather and the time of the year. Nothing but tourism here.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 28, 2024
- nenak0127Bradford, United Kingdom142 contributionsA picture postcardCaptivating and picturesque, a picture postcard. The narrow, winding streets are filled with artisanal or local boutiques, art galleries, and cafes, offering plenty of opportunities for exploration and relaxation. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. Whether you're passing through it is a must-visit. Please be wary of the waterfront restaurants though as the nearer you are the higher the price. We strolled though the white paved streets and found a lovely gelato store at sensible prices.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 28, 2024
- Stan L14 contributionsEnjoy a leisurely stroll around the gorgeous paved streets of this little Mykonos neighborhood.Almost every corner offers a good angle for a picture. With so many fancy stores, I did think the area was a little touristy, but generally, it seemed quite laid back and nobody was overtly promoting anything. Make sure to visit the waterfront area between the buildings and the recognizable windmills at dusk for some really amazing sights and illumination!Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 9, 2024

It is not that spectacular but it is a place worth having a few drinks and take some pictures. It seems to me that while the title of Little Venice is a bit of a misnomer because it has no canals or bridges like in Venice, it is a scenic corner of town. However, it is a charming corner in Mykonos with a lot of magic. Just below the windmills, wealthy local shipping merchants built a row of picturesque houses with brightly painted wooden balconies on the sea along the bay. The embankment is lined with restaurants, cafes, and cocktail bars, crowded every night with tourists enjoying the sunset. It is picturesque to see the sea waves burst on the shore of the restaurants windows. You can take great pictures from here but if you are on a table that is too close to the edge strong waves could splash water on you. Having a drink or dinner right on the sea, watching the rocks in the background and watching the waves of the sea hit the restaurant window. Enjoy getting lost in Mykonos, through its streets, and reach that little corner, Little Venice, with pricey restaurants (prices are exorbitant) and windmills in the background.

While prices are on the high end (even higher than the cruise ship we sailed in), it's worth every penny, the tavernas by the edge of the Aegean sea overlooking the waterfront, it's just breathtaking.
We were there at sun set, it was a spectacle of light and shade as the sun set, the water shining and the small boats at the distance.
The windmills at the distance and the perfect white of the walls and the live colors of the window blinds and doors make this place UNIQUE.
I can say that of my many travels, this is one of the most special and beautiful places I've seen in the world

Perfect for lunch. Perfect for cocktails. And perfect for the sunset. There are spectacular views of the sunset from this location. Lots of bars along this strip. We recommend Scarpa, one of the only few that make their cocktails with the correct level of alcohol. Superb music. It is buzzy and lively along here. Very touristy but actually not tacky. The water constantly smashes on the rocks and occasionally wets walkers as they pass through. It is the perfect place for sunset and cocktails. Enjoy.

I could not believe how many tourists can squeeze into these small alleys. It was a great way to see the little shops in the side streets. Best of all there was a Pelican in one of the restaurants just cleaning himself. We all just walked around him. Great to see nature mix with people and we all can work together. The shop owners are very friendly and do t hesitate to haggle for a hat or scarf.

Visited to check out the hype. It’s a nice small cove and really a little taste of Venice with its small pathways; waterside dining and strange smells.
Found the restaurants / drinks to be quite overpriced vs other locations in Mykonos although understandable as it’s very touristy. The main bars don’t open until 630pm evening so worth bearing in mind but there were a few restaurants open in the day.
It’s also very close to the famous Mykonos windmills too which is around a 5 minute walk away.

My advice? Visit once as that is all it warrants in my opinion! We considered that Little Venice was just the stretch of buildings that abutted the sea and so we visited just to be able to see what the fuss was about and we were suitably disappointed. The area is small and the only similarity to Venice is that the sea laps up to the walls of the restaurants and bars.
The bars and restaurants were, in my opinion, vastly overpriced and only suitable for those who feel that they need to be fed and watered at such establishments. There is another group of people who will visit and they are those wishing to catch a glimpse of the glitterati that seem to frequent the town.
The stretch also gets extremely busy and nigh on impassable when the cruise ships visit and the passengers descend on Little Venice.
If visitors want to be impressed visit the rest of the town which has some glorious architecture and sights to see, much better than Little Venice.

We stayed in Plati Yialos, Mykonos, for three nights. We came by bus to Mykonos Town every night. The bus would drop off the passengers not far from the windmills. Little Venice is the famous place where people go to see the sunset. An area full of restaurants and bars. It's a picturesque and pleasant place to have a drink. The only negative about this area is restaurants want to charge twenty-five to forty euros per person for the tables closest to the water. You can hang out next to the windmills and have the same experience.; ask before you sit down. I highly recommend coming for a visit.

A beautiful place for sunset and drinks. In the evening many bars with dance music. Everything is a little bit expensive but you're at 'little Venice' and this view is unique !! Friendly staff in all the different places we went. Many tourists of course, so were we :-)

Little Venice is an unusually designed part of MYKONOS that has the architecture of Venice and the sea slapping against the seawall creating a perfect setting for a splendid way to end the day.
The combination of the breeze and the sea slapping creates a rhythm that blends well with the cacophony of the people sitting and Milling Around that you don’t find in many places .
The Only thing that ruins the ambience is that unfortunately they still allow smoking and when the tables of four and six smoke frenetically it spoils the quality of air To the degree that it is unhealthy.

I will be visiting Mykonos -plan on going to little Venice -mills .my husband has limited mobility and has scooter-he can walk short distance-is place wheelchair accessible?
Written September 9, 2023
We stayed at the Harmony boutique hotel. This was about a 10 minute walk for myself and my wife we are in our 60s. But we remember there’s lots of steps and splashing water so my suggestion is get yourself driven down to the area you can use your wheelchair, hopefully you have big wheels because uneven concrete just not perfectly. It’s like cobblestones and things like that there were people in electric scooters. My suggestion is whoever your hotel is it ask them what they could arrange for you. You might be surprised this is only a few minutes away , the only other alternative is driving down the street in your wheelchair which they also do but I wouldn’t put myself in that position. Ask the hotel they are very accommodating usually.

Are restaurants and shops here, closed during the month of October? I plan to visit w/c 16 October.
Written June 18, 2023
October is really not a great time to visit Mykonos.
Most of the places that Mykonos is famous for will be closed till next year season .
But if you want to relax and chill out on yourself- sure.
I would look into other Greek islands in your case

We’re staying in one of the little balcony places in Little Venice. Is it possible to access the water right there?
Written September 19, 2020
Hello
No. You are at the water but those places are only for drinks and food. The closest place you can access the water from there is the old port.
Cheers

Is it possible to walk from the Port to the old town?
Written January 4, 2020
If you mean the port where the cruise ships dock it is too far to walk to the old town. However a bus runs from the port into the old town plus you can get on the little ferry that takes you to the old town beach and it costs around 2 euro and is very frequent.

Hello,
My family is traveling to Mykonos late Sept. They have a one day stop off of the cruise ship. They want to visit Little Venice and then experience a beach club and a enjoy a beautiful beach. Suggestions as to which beach club is closest to Little Venice or would be a short cab ride from there? Or suggestions on how to transport from Little Venice to a beach club other than a taxi. Looking for a more exclusive, luxurious beach club for a splurge. We also have family who are looking to renew their vows while in Mykonos for their 25th wedding anniversary. They will be traveling with the minister so they are just looking for a beautiful beach spot to casually be able to do this. They were hoping to find a beach club with a perfect spot to have this special private moment. Thanks in advance for your help.

How do you get to little Venice when on a cruise ship?
Written January 5, 2019
Just take a taxi from the port and the driver will take you there. It’s very close from the port though.

Best places to eat near O Lofos Boutique Suites?
“Must do” while on Mykonos?
What to avoid?
Thanks much!

Little Venice is a must see along with Windmills and Church. Luckily not too busy when we were there but understand like other respondents have said that best to avoid when tour boats in.

He readers, I'd like to ask many questions about Greek islands.
We are traveling to Santorini - Mykonos - Athens on 16-21 Sep. We are more like a night out tourists, but we love to spectate good views or scenes around.
1)What is the best app or websites for ferries from Santorini to Mykonos and Mykonos to Athens??
2)I'd like to visit blue cave but I haven't found one around the places we are going to, if you can suggest any nice cool places to visit and how to go, that'd be appreciated.
3)Which (private) boat service is good around Mykonos (cheap but not below the average standard) if we would like to surf around and maybe snorkel. And can we book online as well?
4)I heard from a friend that Mykonos is a party island, so far I haven't seen much about it on TripAdvisor
5)I was told that cheese and wine are much cheaper than in the U.K., we'll definitely stuff cheese and wine. I'd like to know if we should go on a wine farm tour? And is there any specialty or a special kind of cheese and wine we shouldn't miss?
Thank you,
Felix

I loved Mykonos but it's extremely expensive an example 17 euros for a gin and tonic in a bar. The Jackie O bar is a lot of fun .
