- RyanSan Diego, California163 contributionsBeautiful maze of storesToday was our first day in Greece, and my wife and I couldn't have been happier spending it in Mykonos, exploring the enchanting neighborhood of Little Venice. We spent the entire day here, browsing the charming white-covered shops, purchasing cool souvenirs, and enjoying a delicious meal at the M-eatery restaurant. Little Venice is the main attraction in Mykonos, impossible to overlook amidst its maze-like streets.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 24, 2023

We like the walk along the beach and loved the restaurant recommended by the host. Enjoyed shopping on the beach.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 10, 2023

- CidoneILAriel, Palestinian Territories199 contributionsBreathtakingWhile prices are on the high end (even higher than the cruise ship we sailed in), it's worth every penny, the tavernas by the edge of the Aegean sea overlooking the waterfront, it's just breathtaking. We were there at sun set, it was a spectacle of light and shade as the sun set, the water shining and the small boats at the distance. The windmills at the distance and the perfect white of the walls and the live colors of the window blinds and doors make this place UNIQUE. I can say that of my many travels, this is one of the most special and beautiful places I've seen in the worldVisited July 2023Written July 17, 2023
- Julie J14 contributionsCute shopping areaThe winding streets of this authentic island town were fascinating. This is the white buildings that are so picturesque in photos and it did not disappoint. We wove around the shops and restaurants and loved seeing the sights. Definitely could've spent a lot more time shopping, but we wanted to spend the majority of the day by the beach. - JoozUKLondon, United Kingdom311 contributionsPicturesque spot below the WindmillsLovely place to visit for the views and a drink by the sea. Gets VERY busy though and if it’s windy, those waves do crash over the sea walk! Definitely worth a visit. We enjoyed a drink inside one of the bars with huge windows and views- without getting wet!Visited August 2023Written August 25, 2023
- rfamily9Acworth, Georgia1,247 contributionsAbsolutely a bucket list item!I did a lot of reading prior to coming but even the descriptions didn’t do this place justice. It is a very unique “village” with plant of places to sit by the sea and enjoy a drink or meal. The one downside is they really increases the prices of everything during tourist season so ask the cost of everything BEFORE you order or agree to purchase something. Also i’ve been told that this is a VERY ACTIVE party area after 9pm so be aware of that. My wife and I enjoyed drinks and dinner and had a great time before 7pm!Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 12, 2023

The bus would drop off the passengers not far from the windmills. Little Venice is the famous place where people go to see the sunset. An area full of restaurants and bars. It's a picturesque and pleasant place to have a drink. The only negative about this area is restaurants want to charge twenty-five to forty euros per person for the tables closest to the water. You can hang out next to the windmills and have the same experience.; ask before you sit down. I highly recommend coming for a visit.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 17, 2023

The cobblestones narrow winding streets lined with local traders offering traditional Greek items and those unique to Mykonos. With so many restaurants and bars there is something for everyone . A must if come to the island. Enjoy.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 20, 2023

I could not believe how many tourists can squeeze into these small alleys. It was a great way to see the little shops in the side streets. Best of all there was a Pelican in one of the restaurants just cleaning himself. We all just walked around him. Great to see nature mix with people and we all can work together. The shop owners are very friendly and do t hesitate to haggle for a hat or scarf.

Visited to check out the hype. It’s a nice small cove and really a little taste of Venice with its small pathways; waterside dining and strange smells.
Found the restaurants / drinks to be quite overpriced vs other locations in Mykonos although understandable as it’s very touristy. The main bars don’t open until 630pm evening so worth bearing in mind but there were a few restaurants open in the day.
It’s also very close to the famous Mykonos windmills too which is around a 5 minute walk away.

My advice? Visit once as that is all it warrants in my opinion! We considered that Little Venice was just the stretch of buildings that abutted the sea and so we visited just to be able to see what the fuss was about and we were suitably disappointed. The area is small and the only similarity to Venice is that the sea laps up to the walls of the restaurants and bars.
The bars and restaurants were, in my opinion, vastly overpriced and only suitable for those who feel that they need to be fed and watered at such establishments. There is another group of people who will visit and they are those wishing to catch a glimpse of the glitterati that seem to frequent the town.
The stretch also gets extremely busy and nigh on impassable when the cruise ships visit and the passengers descend on Little Venice.
If visitors want to be impressed visit the rest of the town which has some glorious architecture and sights to see, much better than Little Venice.

A beautiful place for sunset and drinks. In the evening many bars with dance music. Everything is a little bit expensive but you're at 'little Venice' and this view is unique !! Friendly staff in all the different places we went. Many tourists of course, so were we :-)

Little Venice is an unusually designed part of MYKONOS that has the architecture of Venice and the sea slapping against the seawall creating a perfect setting for a splendid way to end the day.
The combination of the breeze and the sea slapping creates a rhythm that blends well with the cacophony of the people sitting and Milling Around that you don’t find in many places .
The Only thing that ruins the ambience is that unfortunately they still allow smoking and when the tables of four and six smoke frenetically it spoils the quality of air To the degree that it is unhealthy.

Little Venice is a beautiful place next to the sea with the view of the windmills.
The problem is with all these cafe bars there which are really destroy the beauty of the place.
60 € per person to be there or 500 € for a table with a bottle.
They react like pimps and generally are rude.
Next to the bars there is a area which you can have the same view without those pimps.
If you want to see the view and not show your money, you can take a beer from a kiosk and take it easy there.

I will be visiting Mykonos -plan on going to little Venice -mills .my husband has limited mobility and has scooter-he can walk short distance-is place wheelchair accessible?

We stayed at the Harmony boutique hotel. This was about a 10 minute walk for myself and my wife we are in our 60s. But we remember there’s lots of steps and splashing water so my suggestion is get yourself driven down to the area you can use your wheelchair, hopefully you have big wheels because uneven concrete just not perfectly. It’s like cobblestones and things like that there were people in electric scooters. My suggestion is whoever your hotel is it ask them what they could arrange for you. You might be surprised this is only a few minutes away , the only other alternative is driving down the street in your wheelchair which they also do but I wouldn’t put myself in that position. Ask the hotel they are very accommodating usually.

October is really not a great time to visit Mykonos.
Most of the places that Mykonos is famous for will be closed till next year season .
But if you want to relax and chill out on yourself- sure.
I would look into other Greek islands in your case

Hello
No. You are at the water but those places are only for drinks and food. The closest place you can access the water from there is the old port.

Is it possible to walk from the Port to the old town?

If you mean the port where the cruise ships dock it is too far to walk to the old town. However a bus runs from the port into the old town plus you can get on the little ferry that takes you to the old town beach and it costs around 2 euro and is very frequent.

Hello,
My family is traveling to Mykonos late Sept. They have a one day stop off of the cruise ship. They want to visit Little Venice and then experience a beach club and a enjoy a beautiful beach. Suggestions as to which beach club is closest to Little Venice or would be a short cab ride from there? Or suggestions on how to transport from Little Venice to a beach club other than a taxi. Looking for a more exclusive, luxurious beach club for a splurge. We also have family who are looking to renew their vows while in Mykonos for their 25th wedding anniversary. They will be traveling with the minister so they are just looking for a beautiful beach spot to casually be able to do this. They were hoping to find a beach club with a perfect spot to have this special private moment. Thanks in advance for your help.

Food was divine, great choice of drinks and cocktails, as we as excellent service
They have a shuttle bus to take the guest to the town centre.
The Bar has a panoramic view to see the sunset.

Just take a taxi from the port and the driver will take you there. It’s very close from the port though.

Little Venice is a must see along with Windmills and Church. Luckily not too busy when we were there but understand like other respondents have said that best to avoid when tour boats in.

He readers, I'd like to ask many questions about Greek islands.
We are traveling to Santorini - Mykonos - Athens on 16-21 Sep. We are more like a night out tourists, but we love to spectate good views or scenes around.
1)What is the best app or websites for ferries from Santorini to Mykonos and Mykonos to Athens??
2)I'd like to visit blue cave but I haven't found one around the places we are going to, if you can suggest any nice cool places to visit and how to go, that'd be appreciated.
3)Which (private) boat service is good around Mykonos (cheap but not below the average standard) if we would like to surf around and maybe snorkel. And can we book online as well?
4)I heard from a friend that Mykonos is a party island, so far I haven't seen much about it on TripAdvisor
5)I was told that cheese and wine are much cheaper than in the U.K., we'll definitely stuff cheese and wine. I'd like to know if we should go on a wine farm tour? And is there any specialty or a special kind of cheese and wine we shouldn't miss?
Thank you,
Felix

I loved Mykonos but it's extremely expensive an example 17 euros for a gin and tonic in a bar. The Jackie O bar is a lot of fun .
