Ridiculously overpriced guided tour. 55 euros. If we had taken the boat only option at 20 and then paid 12 for the entrance fee, that prices the guided tour at 23 euros. In fact the day we were there entrance was free making the tour 35 euros! The tour was in broken, heavily accented English that was difficult to follow. A massive group - 40 ish - herded around with little time left to explore on our own. Delos s a wonder and the guided tour a temptation as to does need some explanation. But honestly, a decent guide book would be a much better option and take the time to soak in the atmosphere of the place. Then with all the money you save you may be able to afford a beer in Mykonos. Probably just one though!

We pre-booked our tour to Delos online. We arrived at the little hut by Vegera restaurant to collect our tickets and board the boat. Masks were needed at all times in the boat and it filled up quickly on the top deck. The ferry over is only about 30 minutes. On arrival we were greeted by our guide, Athena. Our tour included skip the line tickets which was sort of worth doing. I say this because the queue for the tickets seemed huge but moved fairly quickly. Our skip the line tickets resulted in only my husband having to wait behind until another group had passed through before he got his. Our guide didn't seem too pleased with what was happening and we got the impression the lady on the gate was just being difficult. The boat departed at 10am and we arrived at 10:30 and our tour started around 10 minutes later. Athena has lived on the island as she has worked there as a archeologist and is an architect. We spent about 2 hours with her and she took us to see various sites and told us some great stories. I loved the theatre stop and my husband enjoyed the lion statues and we both learned so much. We had to have audio pieces due to the pandemic which is a good idea pandemic or not IF the equipment works. However, if you're at the back of the group it kept cutting out and by the time we'd reached the first thing described we'd missed it and so it didn't really work in bigger groups. The last hour was spent as free time. We trekked up the highest point to survey the view and it was a brilliant vantage point of the site below (wear trainers if you plan to do this....people in flips flops ended up doing this barefoot!). The museum was closed due to covid but the toilets were open here. Bring water and food if you get peckish as nothing here. Our ferry back was at 1:30pm. A highlight of our stay in Mykonos and Athena was brilliant. Unless you have a knowledge of the site or a very good detailed guidebook, the guide is worth every penny. It's about 20 Euros for the ferry and 12 Euros for the entrance fee and we paid about 50 Euros for our ticket including it all and the guide which was brilliant value.

Great great great tour and guide! Athena was not only the perfect name for an archeological guide in Delos, she was also the perfect model of how to stay cool and look beautiful among the ruins on a hot day in a bright colored lightweight dress, easy to see if I wandered from my group. Athena had a personal stash of large, brightly colored illustrations that she drew out of her bag to illustrate ancient stories about Delos. She seemed to have prepared that herself since I didn't see other groups with the pictures. For instance, she showed us a 3 dimensional drawing of what a house may have looked like while we were in the courtyard of that particular house! Going that extra mile really brought the house alive to me. She even brought out drachmas! No topic was too off-color as Athena talked about money, trade, sex, food, domestic arrangements, theater, government, architecture, war, emotions, historical periods, and how they affected the art, and the development of body and mind in ancient. Thank you thank you thank you for going deep into all subjects around Delos!

A must see visit in the ancient sacred island of Delos, 30 Minutes by boat from Mykonos. The service of the tour was exceptional. Starting from the kind and helpful leafy who booked for us the tickets and did the checking. We booked the option with the guided tour (55€ in total, including the boat, the entrance to the island and the guide), which is value for money for your what you are going to experience in Delos. You walk though an ancient city of 35.000 people, you walk through 3000 years of history. You actually see how these people were working, were living etc. Only one third of the ancient city is preserved now, but this is more than enough to understand the glory and vibes of this place… I strongly recommend the guided tour so that everyone can understand and learn the history of this sacred island. We had our guide Ms Georgia Ralli, who was exceptional and very knowledgeable. A memorable tour!!!

Although it is not possible to be responsible for other people’s behavior, the company did not check that people were using face masks between boarding and departure when in the boat (they had someone checking during the trip at times). They didn’t check whether people were seating on the designated seats nor keeping the social distance required. As per the boat trip, it was alright (we didn’t departure on time though). I didn’t take the guided tour so I can’t comment on that.
