Dump of a place for a Soul Festival? really? I dont think so
Nov 2019
What you call a Soul Festival was not what I had a day pass too terrible place, boring, people sitting around in the dark mostly old no one under 30! place is a dump the toilets are disgusting and in need of repair. 4 of us went to party hard, but this was not a happening event, been to many soul festivals this is not one! false advertising!! went to the another club instead

Interesting and informative

Just got back from taking my father to the ‘Magma Tour’ for his birthday. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, very well looked after by Terri-Ann, shown around the entire building including the ‘caves’ and roof! It was great to hear about the architect and see his plans. Terri-Ann was very welcoming, her professional attitude and great personality is a credit to Magma. Thank you for a great visit.

Somethings going on over there. Not sure what. Looks like a festival. Most definitely not closed. Let's party.

Website and led sign on building lead you to believe the building is still occupied but no sign of life or signs of the building still being used. Phone number out of use. Its an impressive/unusual building and I would have liked to see inside. Glad I'd only had a 10 minute walk to get there. One poor lady had travelled all the way from Santa Crus only to find it closed.

Impressive monolithic-style architecture but is this where our EU subs get spent?

I saw this building from the motorway and was impressed so when I cycled past it I went for a closer look on the outside.
It is a very impressive piece of architecture and well worth a look if you have any interest in this type of thing. It's sort of Sydney opera house meets the old Berlin wall meets the Scottish parliament building cast out of massive blocks of rough unrendered concrete and cladding panels. As you walk/cycle round the building it is different from every angle and is a real mish-mash but most views are very impressive in their own right just by being so massive and beautiful in a sort of brutal modernist way. It certainly does have a wow factor from most angles. Ironically, as the island is mostly volcanic rock and many buildings and walls are made from lava rock and this building is called Magma which is what lava is made of, I think the building is just made of many many tons of concrete, some rough and some flat. The sweeping roof looks like zinc or some exotic metal but close inspection it is just cement board! Parts of the building look like a modern representation of Stonehenge in concrete.
The building is completely deserted and unused with no posters of any events. It looks like it has just been finished instead of in 2005. On close inspection the finish of the building is rather poor in some parts and some cracks are appearing in areas.
I was disappointed to see on their 2018 website that the main use of the hall is for concerts for tribute acts! The only 2018 event listed was an AC/DC tribute in June and their 'recent events' listings were cage fighting and a Coldplay tribute act.
So basically this 30 million euro building is a white elephant and is not bringing any significant culture or arts to the island or the tourists. If you are interested in architecture or are passing by it is definitely worth a visit.
It is rather sad that the big fancy metalwork sign on the building saying 'Magma Arte & Congresos' has an ATM machine built into it!

Concert
Jan 2018 • Friends
Enjoyed the night as I knew what to expect from the acts" the centre itself is a large concrete building, not very personal big concrete jungle, I suppose it serves the purpose
For the events it as, would go again for a concert. Not too impressed.

Bland building,grows on you
Oct 2017 • Friends
Magma Arte & Congresos is at first glance a rather drab building but once you check it out you see it is a modernistic and cutting edge conference venue.
We had just been to the Pheasant Plucker Pub and were just bimbling around this part of town when we chanced on what appears to be a rather bland building but after checking out the building the architecture grows on you.
They hold all type of concerts and exhibitions here and considering that the building is nearly an all concrete affair it still looks cool .
Very easy to locate on Avenida De Los Pueblos in the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife.
