Just 10 minutes drive from the bustle of Las Americas, you find the traditional working farm of “La Caldera”, nestling in a lush valley, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, volcanic mountains, reservoirs, forests and canyons. The farm is situated in a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, fringed by orange groves, avocado trees and a banana plantation. Here you are free to trek with our horses and guides into a “secret” Tenerife, seen by few outsiders.

Casey has learned to ride here, safely and quickly!

My twelve year old son started coming here in February and met with Karen who has given him virtually one to one instruction from day one. They go out on treks and spend time in the school and I believe that Casey has ridden nearly every horse at the yard! Karen loves all her horses there, and they are well... More

This is the second time my friend and I have visited this stables for a hack. We are no spring chickens but still a adventures pair and it has been many years since we had been on horseback. Karen paired us with horses that suited our ability and was very patient with us as we hacked around the Banana Plantation.... More

I went 3 times during my ten day holiday... Would have happily gone every day!!! Super little trek with lovely views followed by two fabulous lessons on a cracker of a little horse with confidence boosting instruction from Karen. Loved it 💕🐴🌞

This is our second visit to La Caldera del Rey. Karen is great fun to be with . We went round the banana plantation last time but this time we went up the hill. It was a lovely morning out we had Arnie and Gofee ( not sure of the spelling!) but they were great. Will definitely be booking again... More

What a well organised trek with great instructions from Karen, who took us on the ride. She listened to our requests and was very friendly and a great teacher. Can't wait to go back next year. You need to give it a go.

I always wonder how such places get 4.5 stars on TA. Maybe I am picky, but I can’t imagine how riding on completely zombie alike horses can be enjoyable to anybody. If you like riding 40 minutes on asphalt road around poorly supervised farm, that’s for you. Karen completely ignored what we asked her for and did what was best... More

I really enjoyed my first riding experience. My wife and I visit this resort 2 or 3 times per year. My wife has been riding here during previous holidays but it was not really something that appealed to me. Riding is not something she does in the UK but she always comes back from her sessions at La Caldera del... More

This is a pleasant riding tour for both experienced and less experienced riders. I was somewhat nervous, as it's been a while since the last time I rode a horse, but everything went smoothly. The owner made sure I got a nice horse that didn't give me too much trouble. During the tour around the plantations she regularly checked on... More

My OH and I have been riding here a couple of times a month for the past few years. We have tried other places but keep returning. The staff are first class, the horses in lovely condition and well looked after and the view on the rides are lovely.

I really enjoyed my hack here. Karen, the lady who runs it was great with assisting my partner who is a novice rider, and Arnie was a lovely horse for him to ride. Was a bit disappointed that they wernt running the 2 hour hack but as this was in the horses best interest as it was so hot! I... More
