Beautiful walk and lake. Nature all around, peaceful, easy to walk to and a most refreshingly clean lake on a sunny day.

An easy 20 minute walk up from the Nidum Casual Luxury Hotel above Mosern the morning after we arrived on a 30 hour flight from Brisbane Australia was just the remedy we needed to help overcome our jet-lag. Walking around the lake on a Wednesday in early June in 27C sunshine and blue sky was very relaxing with only the odd person or couple sunbaking on the banks amongst the reeds or taking a leisurely swim (the water didnt feel cold). There are nice views from the lakeside to stop at and soak up with a few photos or 30 to add to the collection. The Eiszeit (Ice Age) Trail starting from Mosern up to Brunschkopf at 1480m has 11 interpretative stations about glaciers in the region and one station (# 2) is at Moeserer See. I would recommend walking the complete Trail as we did a few days later: it is very interesting and the views and nature are amazing (& no one else around).

We walked from Seefeld along a really well maintained walk (1.5 hours) and when you get there it feels like you have really earned it. A bit busy near the cafe but if you have a little wander you can find a more private spot. We went on a glorious day and it wasn’t too busy even then.

Hiked up here a few days in a row. One day I followed the Eiszeit trail a few kilometers farther up, the other day I followed a different trail parallel to the lake. There were a handful of morning swimmers out. It was a beautiful lake and easy to get to. Definitely worth the effort to visit!
