Probably because we went there in a very hot day, in winter it may be different, we find it very nice. Not only the fountain but thae entire sqaure.

There are two big fountains that look similar in the city, I'm not sure which one is the musical fountain. We visited both, neither was playing any music.

On a warm evening this is the place to sit and watch the locals. Children zoom by on their bikes and teenagers use their hoverboards and skateboards. Lots of people just sit there chatting.

This was something we encountered in different varities in Russian. Fountains with different colours and accompanied by music - when we were here they played "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi - funny hearing the winter part when the temperature is just below 40 degrees Celsius... Loads...More

This is a wonderful fountain to visit on a warm day. If the weather is out, you can find a lot of locals sitting near it and relaxing with their friends and families. It feels very alive and is just an excellent place to sit...More

Small square in front of the theatre close to the main square, with the huge bust of Lenin's head, in Ulan-Ude. Very nice.
