A large market area, with a little of everything for sale. It didn't seem very busy when we visited, maybe because it was Sunday afternoon?

A lot of stalls At the central market, but little quality. Tried on a few hats but bought very little

Worth a visit

In a some how small city like Ulan Ude you will find the central market easily. I ate bursh the famous dumpling at the restaurant on the second floor at a very reasonable price and bought pine seeds. The price was almost the same as Irkutsk but 1/3 of Irkutsk airport so if you are want to buy pine seed (which is a sort of souvenir to bring with you) the central market is a good place.
