About
Triassic Park at the Steinplatte Waidring NEW: Prehistoric adventures now also in the "Ice Age". The Triassic Park on the Waidringer Steinplatte has recently also been snowing in during the winter with casual activities for the whole family - even without skis: because the winter hiking trail to the viewing platform and the new stalactite cave is dinosaur-strong. And while the grown-ups are whizzing down the slopes and the little freestylers are making the Triassic Funline unsafe, the very youngest (non-skiers) find the Triassic childcare mega - always Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm. The entire area of the Triassic Park is also a great playground in winter and can be used by everyone, and this year we're also asking you to join us again for a: Mummy Lounge. As a highlight, our mascot Triassi will always visit us on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 14:30! All info: www.triassicpark.at

First of all the whole park is an awesome idea how to get kids in the mountains. We had a 2,5 year old girl with us and eventhough most of the attractions are for bigger kids, she loved the dinosaur statues, climbed on top of the mountain and we had a great day. On a hot day you can find many ponds to "get wet" (suggestion: bring spare shoes and clothes), the restaurant offers great variety of food and we also experienced a live music, which was quite intense and loud, but nice and fits the place.
What was the biggest con was the amount of people, but its unerstandable. Morning around 11 was the worst, later on it was getting better, around 3 it was almost empty. Also as you can see on the map, all facilities are situated at the bergstation, if you go further up, bring your own refreshments and use WC before.
I really recommend for people who want to start going to the mountains with kids.

Very nice place!! We were here 21 people (family with grandparents, parents and kids in the age 3-18) everyone loved it becuse there is so many interesting things for all ages. We used about 6 hours to see all the different spots. There is also a waterpark for the small kids to play. The toilets are clean and a really nice view.
Totally worth a visit!!

We had a good wander around Triassic Park while we were at the Steinplatte. Our kids are all grown up now but that didn't stop us thinking what an absolutely fantastic place for kids this is. They've obviously thought long and hard about this place and gotten it 100000% right. Great little pools for kids to dip in and lots of places to sit in the shade, along with a climbing wall and sandpits. Loads to keep you kids occupied all day. If you have kids, you and they will love it here.

What a great adventure for little children! Up the mountain with a gondola, cows on the meadows along the path, then the exhibition with wild things to look at. An ice cream and off to the outside area of the Triassic Park. Bring swimming costumes, because they will end up wet. Don't forget the sun screen as the sun up the mountain is strong! My girls loved it, they wanted to see the dinosaurs every day!

Visited here with my family and two young nephews (2 & 6).
Highly recommend for those ages, a lot of outdoor activities for them to get involved in. Older ages may not enjoy as much, but the facilities are great and it is well maintained. Very clean & Tidy and everything looks safe so long as the children are supervised.

The park is really well made and nicely designed securing a close to perfect mix between the nature and the dinosaurs!
There are different playgrounds, swings, slides, water fun, etc. which should keep kids occupied for hours.
The highlight for the adults might very well be the breathtaking view - especially from the extended platform with a direct view towards the ground below.
There’s a really nice traditional restaurant nearby. The food is ok, but slightly overpriced. There’s a cool three-person band playing folk music (?) which might seem a bit corny, but it works really well in the existing atmosphere!
It says several places that admission to the park is free - which is correct. However, if you intend to go to the mountain by cable car, this is surely not free of charge.

What more could small children want than giant dinosaurs on top of a mountain!? Great idea, family friendly. Fab views. Paths are all buggy suitable apart from the very top of the route to the top of the mountain. Play areas and small paddling ponds at top - my only criticism would be a distinct lack of shady places to sit which on a hot summers day with blue skies at altitude would have been very much appreciated. Plenty of free parking. No queue fot gondola on week day morning in August.

Nature, views and play and history for the kids.... there is a great watch tower at this place, with a see through bottom, gave me the creeps but not easy to forget and the kids had a great day here.....

Even when the clouds descend on the mountain top, it was still worth seeing. The park would be lots of fun and education for children. Loads of hiking opportunities above the Triassic park area.

Hallo,
