Thanks to Fabrice, Silvain, Devy and Marjorie we had a fabulous time diving in Martinique in Dec 2019/Jan 2020. This was our second time on the island but our first time finally discovering below the sea. Just right after the first dive, we opted for a package (incl. night dive, Diamant rock etc.) and even decided to make an Advanced Open Water Certification in the end. The whole staff was welcoming, had good command of English language, their own large boat as well as perfect knowledge of the sea world. We went down 9 times with them and would come back if we are in Martinique! Absolutely recommend!

We did more diving than we intended as we were having such a good time. Friendly, professional staff and easy, comfortable boat. Several of the staff speak excellent English, so no problem with briefings. We have dived all over, including several other Caribbean destinations, and we were delighted with the variety of fish, beautiful coral and the number of turtles. All the dives are just a few minutes trip away. Thank you!

Norwegian opened nonstop flights from the states, so we tried diving for the weekend. I travel and dive a lot, and Alpha Plongee is one of the best shops I've been out with.
The shop is located on the beach, and the street in front is blocked to cars and for pedestrians only. You can park on either end of the beach. When you arrive at the shop, the staff are very friendly and polite. They speak enough English to communicate well, and much better than my French. Their tanks are steel with DIN valves, and they have yoke adapters for those of us from the states. I have an integrated Octo, and they asked me to carry a traditional Octo because that's how the do it in France. No problem at all. Fabrice grabbed an extra Octo and connected to the spare valve. You load up your gear and put it on at the back of the small shop. There is a bench to sit and get situated. Divers wear their gear down to the beach, and wade into the water to the boat. The dive sites are a short boat ride.
The staff do a tremendous job separating divers based on experience level and what they are looking for. They do this better than any shop I've seen. They let us dive at least a 60 minutes each dive. The briefings are in French, and then they will translate for you if you need. You go back to shore between dives, and you transport your own gear. The staff have water, coffee and pound cake to snack on at the shop between dives. After the second dive, there's rum punch or water available to finish off the day.
The diving in Martinique is ok, but that's mainly because there is not a marine park. There needs to be. You will see several large fishing pots littering the reef with reef fish inside. This is a way of life on the island that needs to be changed at some point. I would recommend bringing a SMB (surface float) if you have one as they will let you drift with your buddy and pick you up if you want to dive away from the group.
Fabrice was very accommodating in asking what sites you want to visit, and then trying to take you to those sites. All of the staff were really friendly and wanted you to have a good experience. They take safety seriously but give you the freedom to dive how you want. This is a very well-run shop, and we will definitely go back to dive with them again.

They have snorkeling and scuba diving guides. They have scuba diving training, though they don't request you go through the certification process like they do in the US before diving. They have a 1:1 guide with you to make sure you are safe the whole time.Snorkeling is about $20 (they take Euros, check with them about credit cards, but I think they do.) They take you out on a boat to the reefs, and usually to a new section of the reef each time you go out, if you do it multiple times. They speak decent English as well.

Ingrid and Fabrice are wonderful, very professional, very nice and patient!
The centre is ideally located on Grande Anse beach (near bars and restaurants), 10min max from the diving sites with their brand new boat. Material is in very good condition (most of it new). They are certified with European licences as well as PADI (pretty rare in Martinique). I am from Martinique myself (now living in London) and went to a few diving centres, and met this lovely couple last year and since when I come back here for holidays, I would not dive anywhere else and always recommend them to my friends. The sites are really amasing, you have huge and colourful coral, turtles, lots of reef fish, all between 5 and 20m, perfect for all divers. Don't expect to see big ones though, you would need to go deeper: the Nahoon is a great wreck (35m+)15min from the shore and you can Barracudas. Fabrice also goes to Diamond Rock from time to time (you have to book in advance, and there is a little extra charge, 6euros from memory). Cost of a dive is 45euros (pretty standard here), and goes down if you buy a package. They are great instructors as well, so worth getting your PADI or equivalent with them. A little plus: they always celebrate each dive with a nice Planteur (local drink with Rum) at the end, worth trying it's lovely ;-)

Hi,
My wife and I did 9 dives with alpha. The crew is very nice, funny and they are real pros!
We highly recommend the Diamant dive, as they only offer it once a week on Thursdays (as its a protected area), you need to book it ahead of time.
We appreciated the planteur after each dive:) also coffee is served after the 7am dive.
Fantastic experience! Highly recommended!

Our family traveled to Martinique for the Christmas holiday. We treated ourselves to a SCUBA adventure and gave our children SCUBA lessons. Alpha Plongée Martinique provided us a wonderful experience. Their team was very helpful with English translations, provided our family great service, provided top-quality equipment and communicated (email, phone calls) extremely well. We look forward to returning to Martinique and sharing another SCUBA experience with Alpha Plongée MartiniqueRichard BrackenAtlanta Georgia USA

We did a drift dive with JC and crew, a short boat ride from Grande Anse, Les Anses-d'Arlet. Water was crystal clear and the reef and fish were amazing. Even snorkeled the Bay afterwards and saw many large turtles grazing on the sea grass.
Special Shout Out to Sammie from Manchester whom is working on her Dive Master Training at Alpha Diving, you really made the trip enjoyable for us!

My Family and I vacationed in Martinique and wanted to try scuba for the first time. We speak almost no french, and wanted to find a company that could accommodate teaching beginners in English. Learning and diving with Alpha Plongee could not have been a better experience. All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, spoke english very well, and were enthusiastic about showing and teaching us scuba diving. We were hooked after the first dive. My 16 year old son and I went on to get our PADI open water certification while staying there because we were having so much fun. I cant imagine a better place or a better set of instructors and guides to do it than with Alpha Plongee. The dive spots we visited are spectacular, and other divers told us they haven't seen reefs this pristine anywhere else in the Caribbean. The instructors were thorough and careful, taking small groups of divers out on each dive, so that we could have very individual attention. They took lots of time to show us the marine life and explain it unusual kinds. If you want to dive in Martinique, you need to dive with Alpha Plongee! Thanks again Fabrice, Stéphanie, and Guillaume!!!!

Bien cordialement.

Check their website.
Prices are reasonable.
The snorkeling directly in front of their shop did not look great as it is mainly sandy. They may need to take you across a little further in the boat. There looked to be good snorkeling around the dive spots close to the rocks/shoreline.

Hi, I'm staying in Fort-de-France (near the ferry port), possibly without a rented car. What is the best way (+affordable) to get to the dive center?
Looking to dive 1/20
Thanks!!
