Great Golf
Aug 2018 • Friends
Katepwa Golf course is settled into the Qu’Appelle valley. Beautiful scenery and a challenging course awaits all who visit.
The 9 hole grass green course has narrow fairways and challenging greens.
The food is exceptional and well priced. I would recommend this golf course to everyone.

Hidden Gem!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Nestled in the hills of the Qu’ Appelle Valley, this course is a beautiful. Magnificent scenery at every turn, amazing greens keeping and the friendliness of a local course. The club house is basic as is the menu but both will more than meet your needs. Play a variety of tees to get an 18 hole experience on a 9 hole course.

Love it!

One of my favourite 9 hole courses I have ever played. Small clubhouse and restaurant but this valley course is great! Beauty views of the valley and lake and a really fun golf course! Worth the drive!

Excellent Nine Holes
Jul 2014 • Friends
We golfed here one morning and enjoyed excellent golf conditions and beautiful views from many of the holes. We recommend a cart and be sure to pack bottled water. Each of our threesome did lose golf balls so come prepared.

A Great Golf Experience in the Qu'Appelle Valley
Jun 2014 • Couples
The rolling hills and tricky greens are a favourite with the locals. Drop in and experience some Saskatchewan hospitality at Katepwa Beach Golf Course just 16 km south of Fort Qu'Appelle Sk or 26 km north of Indian Head Sk. If you tee of from the Blues then do either the blacks or the reds on your back nine and you'll find a 9 hole course that plays like 18.

PGA Quality Course in 9 Holes
Aug 2013 • Couples
This is a hidden gem! A complete surprise for any golfer. Located halfway between Indian Head, SK and Fort Qu'Appelle, SK along cottage highway, this golf course is a must play for any golfer. Don't let the fact that it is only 9 holes deter you from traveling to try this course. The course layout, the fairways, the greens, the scenery is reason enough to travel. It even has a desert feel in some cases.

There is an unique history to this golf course that saw it once possible shutting down for good but through determination and a unique membership drive, this course should be played by everyone. When I say it is PGA Quality, where else do you see a course with 4 tee box choices, elevated tees, hidden greens, tucked away in the Qu'Apelle Valley is as remarkable as any professional 18 hole course but not the cost of those courses. Here, you can do 18 holes with a cart for the price of $50 on a weekday.

Three Par 5's, Two Par 3's and the remaining Par 4's are all unique in design. The 1st hole is a wide open fairway with an elevated tee and elevated green to finish. The Par 5 is a great opening challenge to any golfer and a great introduction to the course. The 3rd hole is a short par 3 but begins at the tee box, goes down a steep valley and up to the green. It challenges you to shoot for the green. The 6th hole starts on a high tee (aside from the front which is located at the bottom of another deep valley) and goes right, around a bend, up a small hill and down again to a large green that slants to the right. The tee box even challenges those that may wish to go over the top (not advisable).

This course does need to be done by cart as the design leaves it as a long, very long walk with up and down hills. As an example, halfway between the 2nd green and 3rd tee off box and uphill, there is a bench and water cooler as a break. Walking is doable, but save your strength for the tee box and take a cart.

This course can allow you to lose a few golf balls as there is enough trees, bush, tall grass, shrubs and water to keep you honest in your drives and approaches. I could go on to explain every hole on the course but it would not do it justice. Hopefully the attached pictures will offer better views than what words can do. We usually look for a unique golf trip every summer to get away but this course, we will be back.
