Even though we did not fully focus on tigers we saw 7 in one day. It is a tiger reserve and they definitely have tigers. Other things to see are birds, Pench riverside, a beautiful forest with lovely ghost trees. It was worth the trip. The guides are well trained and jeep numbers are limited so that the numbers of people are not overwhelming.

A tiger reserve located both in Maharashtra as well as in Madhya Pradesh....A dense deciduous forest with artifical water holes and dense forest, this is a place to be if you want to watch Tigers wandering in wilderness. This is my second trip and it was worth the trip. Loved every moment of it. Of the 2 safaris we took, we were lucky to get the sightings in one of it. there were our friends who watched many of them. So it is a matter of luck.

Pench Jungle has many gates, now a days Khursapar gate is hot favourite with frequent sighting of tigers. This park has many resorts in the vicinity. Jungles are closed from 16th or 30th June for monsoon and will reopen on 16th of October, even then you can stay in any of the resort and enjoy.

My second visit to Sillari gate, Pench in 2 yrs and it was a great one. The place has nt changed much other than a couple of new resorts in the buffer zone. Stayed at Amaltas Resort which is a FDCM resort. Since it is run by the forest department do not expect much, though the rooms e cozy hut was decent in terms of cleanliness.

The rooms are vry basic but now they have added air condition in each room, which i guess will be a welcome releaf in the coming summer heat.

Pench Sillare gate, the animal siting is excellent and we got to watch most of the support species like spoted deer, nilgai, sambar deer and also the gaur.

We did 3 regular safaris and was successful in getting a decent tiger sitings in the evening. Also got to see a pair of black back jackal come down to the dam reservoir for a drink.

As per birds are concern, lucky to site n take pics of eagle, waterfowl like different type of ducks and cranes and 2 different types of owl at close range. Not to forget a good site of kingfisher and jungle fowl n lots of peacocks.

We also did a newly introduced night jungle safari wich the fdcm ppl does in the buffer zone and was an interesting experiance. Not only was it thrilling to be in the jungle at the dead of the night but you do get to see some nocturnal animals at their work. Civet cat, mongoos, porcupine, jungle cat n also few rabbits are few animals tht we were lucky to get a glims off.

Overall a grt experiance and ppl interested in wildlife shld go to Pench atleast once in life.

Visited this National Park with a friend of mine in a hired car but private/own cars are not allowed inside. One has to hire Jungle Safari, which is an open vehicle and leave yours in the parking. We had to argue over this point and finally hired their vehicle. Unfortunately, this discussion caused us wastage of time and we entered around 8 am. Big cats leave their dens around sunrise and return at sunset, which should be matched by visitors if they wish to see these.

There are several points of entry to this jungle, we entered from Sillari Gate side, which is the closest from Nagpur.

However, we saw a variety of deer and other birds. Sharing some pics.

A must go place if you are interested in wildlife. Definitely can be called as a weekend getaway place for people of Nagpur city as it is very near (75km) to Nagpur.
Touria gate of Pench which is on MP is very famous as compared to Sillari Gate on MH side, which makes Sillari less crowded as well as easier to book a safari. I would definitely like to say that animal sightings are as good as that of Touria gate (or any other famous gates).
One drawback of Sillari is that you don't have much options to stay.

Safari Experience:

Didn't spot a tiger clearly, however it was visible for few seconds at a distance of 150m. It disappeared soon into the bushes not giving me a chance to click a photo.
Other mammals like dhole, jackal, sambar, gaur, wild boar, deer, etc. were sighted.

Was extremely lucky to spot a pair of leopardas well.

Lots of birds, including Malabar Pied Hornbills and Indian Vulture were sighted.

Will definitely recommend people to visit the park in March/ April / May as the probability of sighting the animals (especially the tiger) is huge in these months.

Being very near to Nagpur is an advantage. The arrangement of stay is in MTDC resorts which are okay with limited facilities. The jungle is beautiful, tiger sighting though rare, but sometimes can be seen.

The Pench Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra) is situated along the northern boundary of Nagpur district, adjoining Seoni and Chindawra districts of Madhya Pradesh and extends over an area of 257.26 sq.km. It was a good experience while trucking here. Fantastic Jungle safari..

Pench Tiger Reserve, Sillari gate is the well maintained and nature's bestowed spot. It can be claimed as one of the best tourist spot in Nagpur's- 'To Do ' listing. Its a dense forest with good water bodies-Totladoh dam,etc and many animals to spot and to see the feline- largest cat is by chance mostly during morning safari.

The conservation and maintenance work done by Nagpur Forest department is really appreciating. The Amaltas- ecotourism centre for stay by Nagpur forest department is well maintained with friendly staffs, a good tiger conservation information centre , kids play area. The canteen operated by local women self employment group is ok which needs to be upgraded with more variety of foods and training.

Guides are knowledgeable and friendly. Safari booking is online through mahaecotourism.gov.in. It can acclaim itself to be the ecotourism spot in Nagpur only when all participants in tourism i.e we the tourists, forest & tourism officials, locals, tour and travel agents , hotels and other community participants follow all the eco practices here.
