About
Watsu Massage Lanzarote services require previous apointment by phone or email. Watsu is a relaxing aquatic therapy. The movements are combined with soft strechings in the warm water. In Watsu we use the lightness of the body in the water to decompress the vertebras, to mobilize the joints and to stretch the muscles in a new way, free from gravity. You will feel half a dolphin and half an astronaut. The soothing effect of the warm water, together with the greater freedom of movement, influence our being at different levels, helping rebalance our body, mind and soul. Stef has more than 15 years of experience giving watsus and have adapted Watsu for the specific need of athletes (recovery and strong streches), babies (mobility and playfulness), pregnant woman (fluidity and lightness), seniors (regeneration).

It's an amazing experience with a highly professional Facilitator. Stefan highly experienced in his field and I was able to completely relax and let the process unfold. I never felt uneasy at any stage in the massage and my body felt so relaxed afterwards. I was exhausted in a very beautiful way. I felt safe at all times and it was very easy to feel safe.
I am looking forward to my next visit to Lanzarote so I can experience Watsu again.
Many many thanks Stefan

Booked a couples Thai massage whilst on holiday recently. The massage itself was excellent, very authentic. Besides that however it was a very disappointing. We went to the place at the appointment time, only to find that the woman was at our apartment. Whilst we did provide our address during the booking confirmation, there was nothing mentioned on the website or future correspondence that this was a home visit. I would not have booked it this way, the atmosphere is all wrong. Secondly, a couples massage should be side-by-side and together, there was only one lady, so we went one at a time. Finally, the price we were charged was more than the price stated on the website. Avoid.

I never serviced this couple, I referred them to someone else because I was not available at the time, trying to help them out as Lanzarote is very scarce on Thai therapist.
This review is not on me but on someone else's massages.
I am a man, there are referring to a woman.
I work from my center, they are referring to someone coming to their place.
This is my email to them:
"
Dear Alan
Thank you for your message.
As I would be away for vacations during those dates I have CC my colleage Claudia who will assist you with your massages.
You are in very good hands.
Cordially.

I never discussed any tariff with this couple neither.

I always had back pain due to a herniated disc.
This type of massage is perfect, I got relief and improvements in posture.
Mr. Steff is a kind and professional person.
I can only recommend this experience, although there are no problems or pain!

I am writing to let everyone know what a fantastic experience a Watsu Massage with Steff is. I was looking for a birthday gift for my mother, who was on vacation in Puerto Del Carmen. My mum is very picky about massages and who gets to touch and work on her. Especially with male message therapists.
I called Steff to get an impression and felt immediately reassured that my mother would be in good hands. My mum was trusting enough to believe that I choose the massage carefully. I did all that from Germany - I wasn't in Puerto Del Carmen myself. I could pay the gift through Paypal, so no problem there. He promised me to take good care of her.
It turned out to be the best gift that my mum could have gotten for her birthday. Steff did an amazing session with her. (I wasn't there, but that's what she said herself). To quote my mother: "Steff has found his calling. He has truly healing hands. He was completely present during the message. It's a man who rests in himself and has peace with himself."
She forgot where she was during the message and was able to let go - which is very difficult for her. So for anyone who might have difficulty with touch and trust, please, please go and see Steff. You'll experience that you don't need to be afraid, that you are safe.
I know quiet a number of friends that have difficulty with letting go during a message and being touched due to bad experiences in the past. This experience with Steff is a fantastic and safe way to experience our body again. Go for it. I give you my word (and my mothers) that Steff will take great care of your (or your loved one). Rest assured that you're literally in good hands.
It's great for everyone, but anyone with elderly parents - send them there. The movements in the water are great for older people with back problems, neck problems or joint problems. It certainly one of the best gift you can give your parents.
My only regret is that I haven't met Steff (yet) and booked a Watsu massage with him myself.
Again to quote my mum: "Son, if you're ever in Lanzarote, you have to go an see Steff yourself. I can't describe what a wonderful and blessed experience this is. You have to experience it for yourself."
Steff - Thank you so much for working with my mother and your fulfilled promise to take good care of her.

I went to Calle Salinas in Puerto del Carmen without knowing much about Watsu at all. I just assumed that feeling very comfortable in water, it would be a relaxing experience. Stef listened carefully to my explanations (lower back pain and tension in neck and shoulders). After putting on the floaters I closed my eyes and let Stef do the watsu massage. I disappeared into a very relaxed state loosing the feeling for time and space. It is hard to describe what actually happened, due to the extraordinary relaxation, but afterwards the tension in my shoulders and neck were gone, the pain in my lower back was realased. Now a month later, the tension is still gone and my only regret is, that I have not found a Watsu practitioner close to my home.

This was our first Watsu massage - at first, it is hard to relax, but Steff was very patient, calm and inspired confidence.

After reading the many positive reviews I decided to book this treatment for my husband on our recent trip to Lanzarote. He is a full time builder and as such it does take its toll on his body. He does get treatment (in a more conventional manner) at least once a month here at home. And while I cannot criticise that treatment, this particular experience was on a different level. I must emphasise that he is used to getting massaged, so is able to relax during treatment. For this particular type of massage it is essential that you ‘surrender’.
Not only did it relax his body it relaxed his mind... in his own words he was ‘floating on air” for the duration of the holiday and can’t stop talking about the experience! Also very relaxing to observe too! Many thanks to Steff who made the entire process from booking to execution a pleasure to deal with. Worth noting that this treatment will probably need booked in advance, there’s no way that Steff can churn them out daily given that he puts everything he can into the experience so as the client can feel this utterly calming, relaxing sensation.

My back and neck have always caused a lot of trouble, so naturally a change of mattress had me needing a massage a couple of days into our holiday! Thankfully as it lead me to watsu.
I think everyone that comes to Lanzarote should have it on the top of their list of things to do! An experience I'll never forget, my lower back has never felt so good (it's been tight forever!) and as well as massage it is the most powerful meditation I have ever done!
Only piece of advice would be to bring along your own ear plugs to top the experience off!
Thanks for a wonderful introduction to watsu, I was devastated I couldn't return again before the end of my trip!

What an amazing experience. We really had no idea what to expect but after reading so many awarding reviews we had to try for ourselves.
Although we were a little nervous to begin with, Steff is so lovely he really puts your mind at ease and talks you through what to expect.
It was definitely something I've not seen or even heard of before so what Steff offers is very unique.
Just allow yourself to relax and float all your stresses away whilst Steff eases your aches and pains.
Thanks so much to all the trip advisers who helped me decide to book this via email prior to arriving in Lanzarote.

So glad I went to Stef - it was the most relaxing thing I have ever done. Hard to explain - almost an unreal out of world experience. Definitely going to book before I leave home next time I go to Lanzarote. When it was over I wanted another hour straight away. Worth every cent. Stef is a lovely guy and the warm covered pool is in a quiet apartment complex where people are respectful of treatment taking place.

Sounds fantastic , coming to Lanzarote in Jan and will book but concerned about a chlorine pool ???
Written December 27, 2018
The water is treated with salt (NaCl), but the salt dissociated into chlorine (Cl) and sodium (Na) So as a result the water is sligtly chlorinated but it does not feel like it. I am daily in the pool and I my skin does not suffer at all.

Hello,
We are coming to Lanzarote in December. Do we need to book in advance? If so, is there an email address?
Also, would you recommend one or two treatments (for my partner who is experiencing various back issues) over the course of 10 days?
Thanks
Suzie
Written October 25, 2017
Yes it is advisable to book in advance as the Watsus are in high demand.
Sorry but TripAdvisor block emails in these exchanges, you can click in the email icon of the attraction main page on TripAdvisor to connect over email with Watsu Lanzarote.
You cannot overdose on Watsus ;-), 2 sessions in 10 days would be a good measure.

Hi
My sister and I are booked in for a session on Friday. As we will be going in one at a time what is near by to keep us amused while we wait? Xxxx
Written February 21, 2017
You have several options:
- chill on the lounges next to the pool
- have a juice / tea / coffee at the Cafeteria next to the pool and connect to their free WIFI
- take a walk and go shopping at the shopping center Biosfera or go the old harbour to take a picture of the classic fisherman boats.
Written February 22, 2017
You don't need to know how to swim. Watsu is great to overcome the fear of water (if you have any). Currently the session are offered by Steff only.

Can I do this massage while pregnant?
Written August 11, 2016
Yes. Watsu is one of the few massages recommended during pregnancy. See my webpage for an article on this topic or google "pregant + watsu" for even more details.
