Dear Michelle and Steven.
If it comes to water-sport things can and will happen and that's a kind of part
of the thrill that makes is as attractive as diving, kite-surfing and shark-watching.
And we are dearly sorry of you and especially your children
Your Paraschute was cought by a "Clear Air Turbulence" (Please check Google for this) wich
is a kind of whirlwind that first dragged you down, and that came with force from the surface
to fill the vacuum.
The line holds up to 1 ton, but that CAT was far too much, it had to brake as otherwise the lines
of the parachute would have disintegrated with unknown consequences from 100 meters hight.
we always warn that you can land on the sea,
we do not guarantee that it is on the boat,
it happens to us once every 1000,
BUT THERE IS NO DANGER as you say,
Some find it funny to land in the sea.
They all wear life jackets
So, the chap on the boat ju pes after you, probably surprised as you were in an
attempt to ease the situation, while the "Patron" (Captain) stayed on board.
That's what was more than reasonable in this moment and I've seen you've agreed.
The last sentence of your post is very true and it has proofed true again.
I would add some words please:
Nothing in life is as safe as it looks, neither drive to car, take a cab, the bus, eat mussels and cockels,
snorkel around, fly somewhere, meet your neighbor or the boar while hunting.
PM please.
Things went wrong, that's agreed, but it's part of your and our history as well, an experience we'll share ...
It was not fun.
Neither for you nor for the guys on the boat.
Again:
Things happen ...
Deepest
