GOODBYE TO WETLANDS?
Oct 2018 • Family
I used to enjoy taking my grandchildren to this delightful Park .Due to retirement of the owners the Wetlands has had to close down.I have not read any news as to whether or not any and other business person would be interested in it but it does require a considerable amount of updating

a surprise round every corner

considering its more prestigious neighbour (Yorkshire Wildlife Park)
this place is a little gem. Its rustic and in need of an upgrade but the selection of wildlife is impressive and they appear to be well fed and cared for

Was very good. But the owners have closed it down because of retirement so it's now not open to the public sorry.

It's accsesable for disabled and there a cafe and shop. You get to hold the owls witch was amazing.
They have specal rates for disabled and oap. Parking is so easy and no fair away too.

Best Place
Apr 2016 • Family
This is the best place to go if you got young children but it is a massive shame that they are closing down due to retirement after 20 years running

Lovely morning in the sun
Mar 2017 • Couples
We visited here for the first time yesterday and apparently chose the best weather day of the year which was great being as the park is all outdoors. Being a Wednesday it was quite so there were just the 2 of us wondering around which was nice. The area is lovely and surrounded by trees and vast areas of water. There were all sorts of birds flying around and singing and lots of geese making a lot of noise!
The park is one big circle and on our way around we saw coatis, meerkats, llamas, alpacas, deer, donkeys, yak, camel, monkeys, wallabys, lemurs, farm animals and lots of types of exotic birds. At the end of the trail we were looking at the marmosets and one of the keepers asked if we wanted to feed them which was nice so we fed them with live mealworms and they kept stealing them off the tweezers; they are so cute and tiny!
When we had walked round we went to the cafe and had a drink and a ham and cheese panini each which were lovely and a very good price. We sat outside and watched the fishermen around one of the lakes while the peacocks tried to steal our food!
We had a lovely few hours here and for only £7.50 each we think it was well worth it.

An ok place to take the kids for an hour.
Jun 2016 • Solo
I felt although you can take the children to view the various wildlife and spend an hr or two the main feature is for those that go fishing.
It's also quite expensive for what it is but the Park has improved over the years.

Lovely place for all the family. All the kids love feeding the animals - big kids too!
Good value for money and lovely little coffee shop too.

Lovely place for a walk around
Sep 2016 • Couples
Visited yesterday. We usually try to visit 2 or 3 times a year, as the park is a lovely place to have a relaxing walk around. The staff who you encounter out and about are always very cheerful and friendly, and the variety of animals is quite good for the smallness of the park. It's great to be able to feed many of the animals and to watch the antics of the baby meerkats and lemurs. My only slight disappointment was that ferrets are no longer on show, and that there was no opportunity to meet some at the bandstand as there has been on previous occasions over the years. My husband and I usually spend 2-3 hours here (usually walking 2 circuits and having a picnic lunch), and always look forward to our next visit.
