Beautiful architecture and ornate inside. Attended a reception for a conference I was attending and this was a great venue for that.

Interesting visit of a beatifull building
Aug 2017 • Friends
We visited the city hall with some French and Britisch people. The were very interested and enthousiast. The different rooms, paintings and sculptures are worthwhile viewing. In the attock you can see the carillon that plays music every hour. A visit you have to take when in Sint-Niklaas.

Free to enter during office hours
Aug 2017 • Solo
This neo-gothic town hall is still used as such, however, one is free to enter during office hours and explore. Main interests are the hall way and the "trouwzaal" where marriages take place. The town hall dominates the Grote Markt, and has a small belfry tower. Note that quite a few pictures are from the town hall and belfry in Aalst, a nearby city.

May 2017 • Couples
This city hall has the most shiny golden statues you have ever seen! it is well maintained and in front a large square where a lot of activities (depending on the period) take place. a must visit location!

Center of Sint-Niklaas City
May 2017 • Couples
Sint-Niklaas City is called after the legend of Saint-Nicolas, who saved some children, and his celebration day is yearly on 6th of december. So in front of the City Hall, you see the Holy man's Statue. It is special. The big market was before a big parking, but these days they have made a car underground. So the large market is a bit "empty", but not far from Nicolas' statue, you'll find a row of very nice art sculptures in bronze. Around this large market place, you'll find many commercial shops and restaurants, and even a church on the opposit side of city hall. Our time to visit it was short, and unfortunely it was closed.

Lots of flags (but no USA) flying on the outside of the building
Apr 2017 • Friends
Another old building in another central area of an old town. There were many flags from around the world flying on the outside of the building.

Nice building
Apr 2017 • Family
The only reason we've been here is because of the only hotel available near Ghent and Antwerp visit , for our stay ...
It's a nice building however I'd not come back to St. Niklaas again unless you're interested in the September hot air balloon festival. Which I agree would be a very interesting experience.
The best thing about this place was that there was a wedding taking place when we were there . My 6 year old daughter loved seeing the bride and her bridesmaids getting off the horse cart outside the town hall ...
If you're in the area definitely worth a visit. But not a special journey to it from another town in Belgium. It's only 24 km from Antwerp but still nothing special...
Sorry to say but St Niklaas was very boring, next time we'll definitely will stay in Ghent or Antwerp....
Happy holidays:)))

Beautiful city hall on the grote markt
Feb 2017 • Couples
The building is very nice.
Come first weekend of September you have the hot air balloon festival and then it's worth coming to Sint Niklaas.
Pity the market place in itself is too big and too modern with a mix of flats and houses that do not fit there.
Just look at the pretty buildings :)
