This was by far the highlight of our entire trip to Andalucía! Their online booking system wasn’t working properly, so I called ahead to book the time and it was worth the extra step! Iván was so kind and led an excellent, interactive tour. The caviar tasting at the end was wonderful - Iván described the flavor profiles very well and led a great tasting!

Quick tip! If you’re coming from Granada and don’t have a car, I recommend booking the train from Granada to Loja. You’ll need to get a taxi from there, but the taxi ride isn’t far. We booked a bus trip, which offered a beautiful view of some cute towns, but was not time efficient! Would do it differently if we could turn back time!

We opted for the €85 tour that includes a tasting of 3 types of caviar after a tour of the sturgeons. Amazing creatures and Carmen was very insightful as a tour guide. If you like caviar, I highly recommend it.

We did the route with the premium tasting and it has been one of the best experiences we have done recently. Lots of new information, being able to see the sturgeons of various species and taste various types of caviar, especially with an amazing guide like laura. Laura passed the time and looked passionate about it as well as super patient with the girls. Thanks Laura for everything!!

We were welcomed by their excellent host Carmen.

She explained us everything there is to know about the fish and the caviar in really good English.

Afterwards we tasted 3 kinds of caviar with champagne and wine. This is a must do if you like fine food and learning all about it.

Whether you like caviar or not this is a great way to spend an affternoon. The sampling of the different types of caviar accompanied with champagne and vodka was hugely enjoyable. Learning about the sturgeon and their life cycle was fascinating!
It is a bit expensive but it is well worth the money. Our guide was lovely and very knowlegeable. Try and get there to experience something out of the ordinary...make sure you book ahead.

I had the chance to visit the Riofrio caviar farm where I was given a tour and someone explained how the sturgeons are bred and later on I was given a caviar tasting where they explained the different types of products they have which was really interesting.

The water flowing from the mountain were clear and clean and you can actually drink from it. Everything was ecologically done and the caviar they produced are organic and they taste really good, unlike the traditional caviar which is full of preservatives and so saltish you can barely taste the caviar.

I like the taste of the caviar as it tasted fresh and pure. My personal favourite is the Organic Natural one as it's mild, for stronger taste with dishes, then the Russian Style is better.

The business associates i was with got to go into the pond to touch the sturgeons while i took photos :)

Great experience for our 7 and 9 years old children. Great surroundings also with the river and the medieval bridge and absolutely exceptional food at El Meson

A friend recommended we stop here on our way from Ronda to Granada. It was so educational. We had no idea how Caviar was farmed. Multi tasting. Just too bad we can’t take it with us.
