This museum is situated in a beautiful and historical building. There is this fixed exhibition about the history of Gorinchem which is really interesting. Never thought an average city like Gorinchem would have such a large and touching past.

The museum is not very big. The top part tells the story of nineteen people being humiliated, tortured and killed because of (anti-)religious reasons. The 'marters of Gorinchem'. All of it is in Dutch, so the curator has to fix that or you will have to brush up your Dutch if needed (or use a translation app). They also have weird barbies' art. The building is located very centrally and looks beautiful with all the vegetation growing against it. The tourist information office is in the same building (go to the left after entering). For children between 5 and 10 there is a fun activity where you have to match certain items that are old and new solutions for the same need.

In a city of Gorinchem you can find such a pearl as Gorcums Museum. You can find here a lot of historical information about Gorinchem itself (old name Gorcum) and also about the region.
Really worth to spend some time here!

This museum exhibits a lot of interesting information, ranging from the history of the region of Gorinchem (also known as Gorcum) to the art that are also related to the history of the region.
I myself find the organization of the exhibition confusing. Moreover, all the information is given in Dutch, making me got lost in the middle of my visit.
I would only recommend this museum to the ones who speak Dutch.
