Dengfeng History Museum is set inside the tranquil and very old-school Chenghuang Temple on Dongguan Street (a few minutes walk from the west / long distance bus station). The museum consists mainly of pictures and text, all in Chinese, in dim, dusty side halls. But the crumbling main temple hall is a reminder (after visiting more famous restored temples in the area) that your average Chinese temple probably would have been very simple indeed. Spending a few minutes there makes you feel like you've gone back in time. It's definitely not worth making a special trip, but if you're in Dengfeng anyway it's definitely worth a short visit!
