Food was so good we forgot to take photos. Try this place...you will not regret. Especially the shrimp paste fried rice, if you like spicy food.

We were here in Dec 2017 and Feb 2018, and both times we were disappointed at how much garbage, especially plastic, was floating in the sea and being washed up on the beach. So disappointed that we hardly swam in the sea but instead in the pool at our villa (Laguna Villas). We told everyone since that Koh Yao Noi was somewhere not to go for beach time due to the garbage.
Just got back from another visit (March 2019) and wow what a change! The island has really come on board with cleaning up - there are disposal bins everywhere, and everyone, locals and visitors, is taking part in cleaning up. Big signs all over the island, and especially at the schools. The resorts are doing their part by paying for people to sweep the beach every day.
So now Pasai beach is fabulous - ok, not as fabulous as the white sand of Koh Mook or the super fine sand of the Crane beach, Barbados - but really worth a visit and not a detriment at all.
Dmitri of Laguna Villas posts the time of the tides, so, as others have said, the best time for beach time is around high tide.
Very worthwhile to get up early and watch the sun rise over the islands to the east.

This is where the boats depart for the daily trips so it's a somewhat busy spot and the beach is a bit rocky, especially during everyday longlasting lowtides, so it's actually nicer to come here for dinner as there's some restaurants along the beach.

This is a beautiful beach - but then it's Koh Yao Noi, they're all amazing! It's got a lovely restaurant, very walkable. It is a tad busy for me though, but nevertheless, gorgeous. Enjoy!

This is not a swimming beach. Most of the day the tide is low and all you see is mud and rocks. It is a nice, natural view and the beach is reasonably clean. But after a short stare you really wish there was the option to take a swim. The west side of the island though is mostly mangroves and there are no beaches with full on sunset. Which makes the island okay for a short visit but not a place to stay longer, if one is interested in swimming and sun bathing. Also it is pretty expensive place, which makes it even less desirable.

Pasai Beach bar (on the beach; right hand side as you drive north on the island) was great for a beer and a cheap meal.

Lovely beach. Very safe for kids. Also peaceful and clean. At low tide many crabs are active and entertaining. Tide comes in quickly but still beautifull at sunrise!

Long stretch of beach. Clean and swimmable. Small cafes on the beach and a great place to watch the view of the ocean and its islands. Great seafood dinner too. Cheap and affordable. Watch for the mosquitoes though in the evening

It is not the most beautiful beach of the island but it was the one next to our hotel. It looks nice and it is cool to chat or walk there. I advice to rent a scooter and to check all tge islands beach. Some are more easily reached with kayaks I think.
