Azt gondoljuk, csodára leltünk a világ e kis zugában. Itt szeretnénk olyan borokat készÃteni, melyek soha nem téveszthetÅ‘k össze más borvidékekrÅ‘l származókkal. Olyan borokat, melyek kérdezés nélkül mesélnek arról, honnan származnak, milyen ott a tél és a nyár, hogyan cseperedtek és hogyan váltak zsenge kamaszból felnÅ‘tté. Olyan borokat, melyekben minden Ãz fellelhetÅ‘, de egyik sem tolakszik, melyekben érezhetÅ‘ mind a természet ereje, mind a mögötte álló ember tudatossága.

- Jackson93051,333 contributionsGrandious View of the LakeAdmittedly this is kind of a chic place, to see and be seen, but the outside terrace does offer a terrific view of the Lake of Balaton and the gourmet meat/cheese platter was very attractively presented and delicious to boot; the slightly warm bread was just great, too, and there was lots of it. We drank the Rosé and the Muskotaly, which tasted fine to us. The prices reflect the chicness of the place, so don’t come here looking for bargain glasses of wine. On the sunny and hot day we were there the place was packed; in high season it’s worth reserving a table in advance. Try to get a seat at the lower level terrace. There is a lot of free parallel parking along the deadend street, or a bit beforehand at a small lot on a side road turning off to the right.Visited August 2020Written August 18, 2020
- ch0cbr0wnieLondon, United Kingdom168 contributionsBreathtaking views, excellent wineAbsolutely amazing winery with breathtaking views. Wine is rightfully deserve being more known outside of Hungary. We ended up here because the winery I originally chosen was shut. I am glad that we did. We had the tasting of 6 wines with the gourmet platter. Our wine guide had impeccable English and we found hard to leave this place. Of course we bought several bottles of wine!Visited June 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten June 13, 2022
- Barbara Lakatos43 contributionsAmazing view, excellent serviceExcellent place to spend afternoon there. The service was above excellent we loved it. Szilvia was very kind and professional and there was also another lady (whose name I cannot recall sorry) she took our reservation she was also very kind. I am really satisfied with this place the staff is really amazing the wines are super good and the charcuterie selection platter we had was super tasty. All in all when you are in Badacsony do not miss the chance to visit this extraordinarily place.Visited July 2021Written July 21, 2021
- sorenhhansenOdense, Denmark19 contributionsAmazing location, average wine.Amazing location with a great view. Wine was fine but nothing extraordinary compared to other wines from the same region. Unfortunately the language barrier prevented us from receiving any presentation of the wines - our Hungarian co-visitors received long introductions to the wines, but it seemed like the staff did not even bother trying with us. They were however kind to let us half the tasting size, as we were driving. The cheese plate was very delicious - but prices for both wine and cheese were higher than average.Visited August 2021Written August 28, 2021
- Margarita JVilnius, Lithuania24 contributionsAmazing experienceAbsolutely wonderful afternoon! First you have to climb 2km to the mountain and it is one hundred percent worth it! The views are amazing, the wine is very tasty, the guy working there talked about wine in very goon English, moreover told us funny stories. We tried 6 different wines and the plate of local hams and cheeses - really liked eveything. One more thing- you have to try the pumpkin seed oil! Really wish to come there again.Visited September 2014Traveled with friendsWritten September 29, 2014
- Preview123Budapest, Hungary10 contributionsTerrible reception for young kidsWent there with a larger group of friends for wine tasting. We had a few young kids with us, who, as expected did make a bit of noise. On of the waiters got annoyed and started to complain to us. This i think is unacceptable given it was 5pm and we were had only 10 other guest in the whole vineyard. A little bit of openness and less snobbism could help this place.Visited July 2018Traveled with familyWritten July 19, 2018

They offer 7 wine tasting evenings with cold meat, bread and cheese, so wonderful and otherworldly to sit in fading light on the terrace looking down over the lake wine and meats and friendly attentive staff. Wonderfully cosy rooms, and surprisingly child friendly.Visited June 2015Traveled with familyWritten June 23, 2015

- Zivile5 contributionsGreat view, average winesLaposa has an amazing view - definitely worth it to climb up the hill and get some nice shots. Wine, on the other hand, was not the best I've tried in this region. Me and my boyfriend got 6 wines tasting and we both agreed that the dry wines were rather 'generic'tasting and were very similar to each other. We both like dry wines and Laposa specialises in them so we had high hopes, but the overall experience was a bit bland. The wines were not bad - light and great for summer - but not characteristic enough to become favourites. The service was pleasant, though not very personal - the presentation of wines seemed quite 'rehearsed'. In the end we regreted spending so much time in there rather than going to smalle, not such mainstream places. Overall, if you want to get amazing instagram pics and drink a refreshing glass of wine that is known in the region - the place might be for you. If you're more interested to find something special - I'd say look at the smaller wineries that Badascony is full of.Visited September 2019Traveled as a coupleWritten September 16, 2019
- Lesley R4 contributionsReally lovelyWe spent several hours at this winery today . There were snowflakes in the air so not much of a view, but you could tell it would be amazing on a clear day. There was a fire inside so very warm and cozy. Our server was lovely and spoke excellent English. We did the nine wine tastings and all were very nice. We ordered the three different food platters between 4 people and there was a lot of food. The platters were beautifully presented and contained all local products. A truly lovely experience.Visited November 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten November 27, 2018

Took family and friends here for a wine tasting. High above Lake Balaton, this
winery also caters for weddings. It has amazing views from a nice terrace where
one tastes the wines -in our case 12 of them, so hard not to get a little relaxed if not merry. All the wines were good and 2 or 3 outstanding. Little snacks also supplied.
We were living within walking distance -otherwise taxis would be needed as Hungary now has a very strict drink drive law. Came to about a reasonable £6 per skull for a great afternoon's experience.

Good and modern place for wine lovers. We tested 6 round of wines. Best for me the Laposa Rosé 2014. One of the best panorama wich I ever seen near Lake Balaton!

Hey Chili,
A group of 3 of us are looking to to Budapest on March 2nd and we ae going to do a day trip to Badacsony.
We wanted to climb the mountain and see the views and then spend the rest of the afternoon and evening tasting wine at al of the different vineyards.
This one sounds amazing.
I thought you may know more about the area and what to do.
I want ed to ask, are all of wine vineyards close to eachother?
Is there a bus service that can take you from vineyard to vineyard?
Is it possible to walk or ride a bike between the vineyards?
Can you recommend a cheaper but still nice hotel for the night?
Cheers

Hi Karlee,
Badacsony is a really good place, it is worth to see and taste. But maybe the time which you have choosen is not the best. Lot of wineyards are closed or will be open only on request. I would advise to contact them. One of the non-stop open wineyard is Laposa, my favorite place. It is worth to see the view from this place and you can taste lot of good wines. For 4 people they will surly be open after they official closing hour (19.00) as well. If you're comming from the top of the hill, there will be another wine tasting points as well, you can enjoy them.
As the private hostels are closed in this time I can suggest to book Halászkert Hotel. It is cheaper than Bonvino, maybe not so fine but nice, clean and well located.
In the turistical main time there are buses to take from wineyard to wineyard but I'm not sure that at the beginning of March they already in use. But you can use a "taxi". This are old Russian style crossover vehicles (new but authentic old style). Some of them work through the year. The Hotel can make you reservation, almost all of the accomondation have good contacts to this people.
Enjoy your stay in Hungary, and don't hesitate to ask the nice and helpfull Hungarian people. We are proud of our country. :)
