Absolutely lovely place. We've been here several years ago and it's only getting better! The owner's daughter speaks excellent English and is a great introduction to the world of Nemeth's wines. Delicious snacks: bread, ham and cheese. A must-have accessory for your tasting! Lovely, homely atmosphere. It's fun to be a part of it!

Any visitor to Lake Balaton should make time for wine, and in particular the vineyards around the volcanic hill of Badacsony. Szallai Attila has a lovely informal approach to tastings: there's a menu of wines, dry, sweet and sparkling, and you can take advice, or make your way through as you like. Each wine is offered as a small glass at a reasonable price, so you can try a few. The winery's dessert and ice wines are rich and complex and well worth your attention. There's a tasting plate of ham, locally made cheese and olives that goes very well with your wines.
The cellar tasting room is a quaint and pleasant space to spend a couple of hours
We stay on the south side of the lake, and go across by ferry; the winery is a 10 minute walk from the pier.
Be ready to overspend; you will want to buy several bottles to take home.

The Nemeth winery specialises in late harvest-, ice- and aszu-like wines. They have a beautiful selection of these sweet white wines. Special wine tasting with chocolate is also a nice idea.
The cellar itself is not the nicest one however.

Only the best words about this lovely place! I felt like a guest rather than like just a visitor, Attila was very welcoming. Me and my boyfriend both are dry wine fans. Nemeth Pince specialises in sweet wines, so we were a bit worried if we will find something to suit our fancy. We were pleasantly suprised. Not only we received personalised advice which wines to try, but also a very detailed explanations about each of them (the types of grapes used, methods, even the naming process).
Later we visited another winery in Badascony (bigger and more 'mainstream') and it was incomparable - the wines that we tasted at Nemeth Pince were way more interesting and characteristic.
My personal favorite - Ottonel Muskotaly (dry)!

Wonderful wines, especially semidry olasrizling Töprengö and semisweet Szalmabor. And "dessert", chocolate with dried fig and wine, was really enjoyable. Tastes were good, and after shopping the summer drink (like a cider) was a crown to our visiting!

It being a cold, gloomy afternoon, not many of the wine-rasting places were open. This made this otherwise friendly visit appreciated even more. It was our first cellar visit of our short break - probably if we had stayed more days we would have returned.

Wine lovers, listen! I've tried the Olaszrirling and bought 5 L of it. No funny aftertaste, so it worth to try. Recommend it!

We used to go to Balaton with my family year by year , we used to taste lot kind wines, but we tasted the best wines in the "Németh Pince". You can taste lot kind wines from dry to sweet and you can get interesting stories to wines. If you like sweet white wines you must taste ice and aszu wines and don't forget ask with small chocolate cup! We love it!
