Wonderful! Make sure that you take your time to visit this beautiful church and study the paintings on the walls.

The setting and atmosphere of the area around Tuscania are incredible, this is just one beautiful church among others, not to miss the town centre and its medieval towers

Beautiful church, beautiful decoration and frescoes. carefully maintained. Fortunately, open after 17:00. Entrant who gives. I recommend to all, is not risky. More on youtube travel video: PSIS visit. Iva + PETR (CZ)

Look for the dome on the skyline in the old town.
It's a small but beautiful place. No photos or videos though and very quiet so be respectful of this.

The whole end wall of the church is frescoed with a mediaeval last judgement. The massive Devil is eating and defecating the souls of the damned. Well worth a detour - the façade of San Pietro, just up the hill is worth a look too.

This is an absolute gem! During a sudden rainstorm we rushed inside and we met by an incredible sight. This mediaeval church has many intact murals, everywhere was originally painted so brightly!
The carved arches and columns are so artistic and skilfully made. There is even an info board inside in English!
The entrance is free but throw a few coins in the donation box for the dedicated volunteers who open up for visitors.
Sometimes they close for siesta so go in the morning.

very beautiful church, open even on Mondays. The crypta is very impressive, and maybe the unrestored damage done by a former earthquake is meanwhile part of the special atmosphere.

I drove by car, but one could walk from the center of town as it's just outside Tuscania. It is a simple but beautiful church. There was an attendant and a donation offering if one wishes. I loved walking the grounds as well. I especially enjoyed taking photographic details of the church.

I visited the church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Its rose window, also called wheel window in Gothic architecture, gives to the church a somewhat English character. Wonderful!

è una struttura affidata a volontari e quindi dipende dalla loro disponibilità ma, vale la pena fare un tentativo perchè è quasi sempre aperta.
