The entrance to the Trail is not easy to find. I give you some more hints to find it.
At first go to Hotel Seri Malaysia Genting in the Village of Gohtong Jaya. You can find Gunung Bunga Buah (GBB) in Google Maps, but don't use it now, because it will lead you to a private property which you cannot cross.
Instead, follow the street (Jalan Jati 1) downhill to the end of the Shops and Restaurants. Turn Right after the last shop and you will see a Taoist statute in a small hut and next to it a red sign "private property" (ignore it). Check the Picture I uploaded (January 2019).
On the left there is a narrow path which will lead you to the Trail. Follow the path for 20-30 minutes (mostly very steep uphill) until you reach a small road. Turn left and follow this road for around 200 metres. The road will make a U-turn but don't follow it! Instead go straight and follow another narrow path. Now you will walk on the old road to Genting Highlands for About 1 hour.
You will see a small sign on the left which will lead you to GBB.
It took us 6 hours to complete the trek (only short stops).
We loved it because we met nobody on the trek and were surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

If you are looking for Klang valley you have to walk 5-6 hours through mountanes forests. This is a nice cold place to hike, you can see quite a lot of nice plants especially during rainy season. The entrance of the Mount is near to Hotel Seri Malaysia.

This hike takes around 8 hours to complete. It's cold along the trail and there are a couple of nice viewpoints along the way as well.
This was during my first hike up this mountain. As of August 2016, the access road to the trail has been fenced with a locked gate. Inquiries on this were made to the police station nearby and they wanted us to get a permit from KL and then register with the fire and rescue services before they would open the gate to the trail.
Too bad, this was a nice day hike near the city and now its just too much of a hassle.

This is a nice cold place to hike, you can see quite a lot of nice plants especially during rainy season. However, this is a place that quite famous with the leeches, the blood sucker is everywhere in the lower trail. Do prepare for the bite. The climb is up and down , up and down. This is not suitable for beginner hikers . Before you reach the peak , there is a nice place with stone where you can actually see Genting , this place has a much beautiful view compare to the peak.

The trail is easy as there's a lot of "caution tape" marker along the way and you wont miss it.
It's better if you go there with someone with experience or it will be confusing at the start of the journey and you might miss the right way to the peak. I really enjoy the hike overall as it's really chilly and lots of nice things to see. Bring jacket and gloves as you might need it.
The hike took >7hrs in total including rest time.

Cool weather and along the way, you can see many wild flowers.
Some site has leeches but it's not so bad. Towards the peak, the condition is quite similar to Mossy Forest but with less moss, of course :-) Certain slopes are quite muddy on rainy days. Rock Garden (last stop before the peak) offers the best view of Genting Highlands and surrounding.

the trailhead is behind all the restaurant and shops of gotong jaya, the very first shop starting on left, behind the restaurant there's Taoist statute in a small hut, u can hike up from there thru dirty terrain (alot of rubbish) and reaches to the abandon asphalt road. please used google map to track your trail. The trail is full of hungry leeches come ready. the hike feels like tracking thru abandon Jurrasic park due to the abandon asphalt road. quite on the weekdays, we did not encounter anyone during this hike. we did not reach to the top due to time constrained and weather looking gloomy, halfway to the trail is all muddy road (if raining it will become a gushing river which makes it impossible to hike back).

A 5-6 hour walk through montane forest to a peat overlooking the Klang valley. The trail starts behind Goh Tong Jaya off the road to the Cable car station near the strawberry farm. The trail follows the route of the old road to Genting highlands which has been abandoned for more than 20 years and is now largely overgrown. The first part of the trail to the old quarry is open but then the trail narrows through dense vegetation. After about 1.5 hours the path to Gunung Bungs Buah is reached. It is a further 1.5 -2 hours to the peak.

The entrance of the Mount is near to Hotel Seri Malaysia. We followed two regulars to the entrance. There is a signboard written 'private property, no trespassing.' We saw only few people as in the beginning of the hike. The real hike began later on when the trail is narrow and almost covered by the overgrown plants. Wearing long pants can avoid direct hitting the plants / branches.
We met another first-time hiker during the first hour of the real hike.He then surpassed us and we did not see him again. The 'rock garden' which around an hour away from the peak is the nicest area for views. There is nothing much to see on the peak.
We spent around 7 hours to ascend and descend. It's a Sunday but we only met a hiker along the real hike. We saw 'orang utan' before the real hike during both ascend and descend.
The trail is not too difficult as we can follow the 'caution tape' on the trees.

Just to check after you reach the peak, is it very near to the resorts and hotels at RWG? Or do you need to go back all the way down to where to start?

Hi! Is the trail open now? Are there leeches along the trail?

Is this place still locked? Is it possible to hike Gunung Bunga Buah?

Read the last review...is it true that the trail is now shut? Is there a guide available to lead us thru this trail if its still open to public?

Hi,
There are two trailheads. One starts just in front of Lim Goh Tong's house main gate. The other is through a farm and joins the just beyond previous trailhead.
We used the former, during our first hike. At that time, just a boom gate was placed at the entrance and was easily accessible. The second time we went, (Aug 2016) a fence has been erected at the entrance and the gate in the fence was padlocked.
We also met two rather rude policemen, who when we asked about the trail, quite condescendingly told us that we should go to KL, get permits and come back. Then register at a bunch of different departments in the town before they would unlock the trail.
So, I'm not sure about the current status of the trail. But there is a gate which wasn't there before, and its locked and you'd have to probably deal with some annoying processes to open it up.
OR you could try the entrance through the farm and see if its still open. But that too was locked last time.
