Went with a group of friends on what was supposed to be a “wine tasting” tour.
The place was very uncosy and freezing cold. We were served with four cheap wines with some cheese and olives. And then pay the bill. That’s it.
We enjoyed our second visit to Gambino winery as part of a day tour. The winery is modern and inviting. There was an introduction outside showing us the various types of grape vines and an explanation of the history of their wines and vineyards; some...More
We very often visit various wineries all over Sicily, but Etna, in recent years, has become an experience all for itself!! This time we visited one of the most renowned wineries on Etna, The Gambino winery. Friends of ours had already visited and they insisted...More
A wine tasting at Gambino Winery is a must do anytime you visit Sicily. After a warm reception from the family and staff at the winery, you are treated to a full course food & wine tasting. The food that paired exquisitely with the wines...More
Some olives, some cheeses and a lot of nasty wine. Aside from the final red, where the grapes weren't from the area, this stuff was mouthwash at best. Wine is harsh, unbalanced, and best used to clean your tub.
We were there as part of...More

Despite your words, we will keep believing in non-stereotyped wines. If you had dedicated a longer time to the tasting we bet you would have appreciated them deeper. We ask ourselves, what would happen if you get used to good wines? Lucky us, we are...More
We were charged 25 euros for some wine, some cheese, some lentils and some sausages. Absolutely expensive considering a wine tasting session.More

Thank you so much for your great feedback that fills us with joy.
See you soon!
We went to Gambino for a late morning tasting yesterday. It was very nice. The grounds are very beautiful. The food was great and the wines were good, too. The staff was very nice and friendly. It is a great example of a tourist-oriented big...More
We visited Gambino on a lovely day in November as we were docked in Messina with MSC Seaview. We spent half of our day in Taormina and the next half at Gambino. We did the food pairing (plenty of food: cheese, soups, bread, etc.) with...More
We ventured out on one of the foggiest days up the mountain. We could hardly see more than 1 foot in front of the car and taking the curves was tough. Once at the top, the struggle was well worth it. We walked in to...More
Transportation from Mazzeo to Gambino Winery (5 Replies)
Hi All, I'm staying in Mazzeo and would like to visit Gambino Winery (still open to other winery suggestions, too). We cannot rent a car since we aren't old enough, so I'm looking for other means of transport. I've checked into Sicily Limousine, Taxi Taormina etc.. . The base rates hover around 150euro round trip. Is this my best option, or are there cheaper services out there? Thanks !!

Salve Jess D! Unfortunately the wineries are located in the countryside and are not reached via public transport. Perhaps consider.... Wineries without a car: tripadvisor.com/…42525685 Vagabonda

Recommendation a driver for an afternoon excursion to winery (6 Replies)
We are a group of 8 adults looking for a driver to take us to the Gambino Winery for an afternoon. Anyone have suggestions for a reputable driver or company?

New Travel Services offer this service and have pleasant, reliable and safe drivers, they would be my first recommendation. Read their reviews for yourself :) their prices are normally competitive too!
