About
On the eastern side of the Etna volcano, in the woods of the National Park and facing the sea of Taormina, the Gambino vineyards are a pleasure for your senses and for your heart. A Pleasure for your sight, because they represent one of the best models of Etna vineyards of high altitude: in an exclusive natural environment, at 800 meters above sea level, the vineyards lay on sunny and airy terracing that have a breathtaking panorama. A pleasure for your sense of smell, for the unmistakable perfumes of the volcano vegetation. A pleasure for your heart, because the vineyards and wine are great passion that, for over twenty years, involves and guides the Raciti Gambino family.

- CathyGilmanLondon, United Kingdom977 contributionsStunning location & wonderful winesThe views from this lovely place are spectacular, its the highest vineyard on Etna. Before we even entered the building we were welcomed with a glass of lovely white wine. There are different wine and food tastings, we chose the vintage tasting. We started with 2 whites and a rose, then 3 reds and then 2 very special reds accompanied with a plate of cheese, olives, bread etc to bring out the flavours of each wine. Our sommelier was excellent, really knowledgeable and really friendly as were the rest of the team. We were also taken downstairs to see the process. It is free to ship wine to the UK if you spend over 60 euros, cant recommend enough.Visited January 2020Traveled with friendsWritten January 27, 2020
- L4USurrey, United Kingdom165 contributionsThis place is amazing! As soon as you arrive a glass of wine is thrust into your hand while they tell you about the vineyard! We then did the food and wine tasting. The food was lovely and extremely filling: local cheese/ meats/ sausages / bread and oil / couscous/ cannoli. The wine is limitless. They leave the bottles on your table so you can HELP yourself to MORE! It’s like the best tasting ever. The team there kindly let us try all 8 wines (you’re only supposed to taste 4). So we could pick our favourites. They ship wines home for free is you spend €60! Which is brilliant.Visited September 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten September 20, 2020
- Vee5ft3London, United Kingdom36 contributionsNot to be missedWhat a wonderful experience, we visited as a large family group, the experience was incredible from Nino’s warm welcome with a chilled white. A fascinating and funny chat in the beautiful gardens about the vineyard was followed by an insight into the production process and rounded off with a truly delicious selection of Sicilian produce and some more fabulous wines. Nino was the consummate host from beginning to end and the two young children were catered for so wonderfully. My parents chose several wines to buy on the day and we ordered to be delivered to the UK easily. This experience is excellent value and will absolutely not disappoint.Visited July 2022Traveled with familyWritten July 26, 2022
- Jack W1 contributionFalling in love in SicilyThe Gambino Vini is unique. We were met in the parking lot by Francesco Racit, the owner of the winery. He gave us a brief background of the winery and led us into the tasting room, where we sampled some Rossos, some Rosatos and some blancos. Each wine was accompanied by foods that complimented the unique taste Various members of the winery management discussed the qualities and nuances of each f the wines. During the tasting, I had told Sr. Raciti hat I was interested in a more in depth introduction to his wines. He and I then went into anther room where e allowed me to taste some of the older and some of the younger vintages. When we returned to the tasting room, he asked my wife an a few other people tp accompany him to the basement to see how the wines were aged. I became a true believer of the wines of this family owned boutique wineryVisited October 2020Written May 17, 2021
- SkydivingSkierLas Vegas, Nevada153 contributionsOutstanding Wine ExperienceThis was one of the best memories from my trip to Italy in Oct. 2019. The property is a beautiful setting of a true vineyard. The view of Mt. Etna is quite the spectacle. The wines here are fantastic! The pairings with food and wine was perfect and the staff were amazing. We were given an excellent tour of the process of wine making. The whole experience was top-notch! There is no pressure to join their wine club, but I couldn't wait to sign up. I also bought some wine to take home because the price on site is so much less. With the international shipping and taxes from Italy to the U.S., the price goes up quite a bit to get to your door. A bottle of wine averages 2.2 pounds, so I left plenty of room in my luggage for wine. I just received my second wine club shipment, and I am enjoying it and fondly remembering the experience during this time of COVID-19. I highly recommend a visit here!!Visited October 2019Written April 23, 2020

We were welcomed by our hosts with a glass of rose and enjoyed the beautiful views while they explained the history of the vineyards. We opted for the “full tasting” which included delicious couscous, various cheese and sausages to compliment the 4 red and white wines we sampled. Our sommelier Nino was a wonderful and knowledgable host who made our afternoon really special. The whole experience is extremely good value, as are the wines which are available to purchase should you wish. Personally I had ordered 8 bottles of the red Duvanera and white wines using the website, to be shipped to England before I had even left the table. An absolute “must” during your stay in Sicily.Visited May 2022Traveled with friendsWritten May 11, 2022
- NCtravelerWSWinston Salem, North Carolina500 contributionsMostly pleasant…Gambino is a large scale winery with an equally large tasting building situated high above Taormina. The view is lovely outside but there is no view in the tasting room which is set up like a crowded restaurant. We had the wine tasting with full menu. The food was ample and the wines fine. The wines were presented at the table with a friendly but brief and difficult to hear description. Overall, the experience was pleasant until time to pay. There was no direction as to where and how to settle up. After a considerable wait behind others buying bottles, we were told rather rudely that our credit card was not acceptable (although it was accepted everywhere else in Sicily). The checkout process rather ruined an otherwise pleasant experience. Would choose another winery next time around.Visited September 2022Written September 15, 2022

Very helpful hosts, were able to try generous amounts of wine and a wonderful selection of food if you go for the full tasting (a whole meal, don't eat beforehand!). Lovely wide selection of wines, explained to us well and the setting and views are simply fantastic. We also bought some wine on site, very reasonable for such good quality. Highly recommend for a wine tasting.Visited June 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten June 9, 2022
- Fred GMilton, Canada589 contributionsGambino Winery tourWe were a group of travellers from Canada, and enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting and food experience at this beautiful winery on our way back from visiting Mount Etna. The variety of wines was outstanding, and the pairings with the incredible selections of foods was first class. Beautiful views of the region as well, and to cap it off, we had a tour of the winery, conducted by an extremely knowledgeable young man called Nino. He was charming and hilarious, and we enjoyed his teaching immensely. This was one of the most interesting and informative wine tours that I have ever experienced. This is a must do if you are in the region. These Etna wines are starting to make an international name for themselves. The vineyards here are only 830m above sea level and have ash in the soil. The temperature swings in the day give the vines a unique sweetness.Visited May 2022Written July 4, 2022
- Voyager640215London, United Kingdom21 contributionsA generous wine tastingGenerous wine tasting experience on the lower North side of Mount Etna. Not far from Taomarina. Good for a first experience of Etna wine or group wine tasting. Not so good for those genuinely interested in wine tasting/appreciation. Light lunch served alongside generous pours of wine (with bottles left on the table so you can help yourself to more). Food OK but experience a little spoiled by several large (drunk) groups shouting / staggering around / generally failing to maintain social distance or wear face masks when up from their tables. A number of staff were not wearing face masks correctly either and made no attempt to encourage visitors to wear masks as required either. Free shipping on wine orders across the EU a positive as was the quality of some of the wines.Visited October 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten October 3, 2020

Our favorite winery of the trip. We got the full meal for 32 euros and they were not messing around!! 6 different wines, one or two olive oils and lots of food. If you are veggie let them know, they have options for you. Dragon wine was our fav. This is big winery with lots of folks at tables but you always get a private table and once they tell you about the wines they leave you alone to enjoy the and the food. You can also get a short 10 minute tour if you'd like. They have wine for sale and t-shorts (tshirt only 10 euros). The shipping options weren't great but if you buy wine to go the prices are great.

We were only in Sicily for and couple of nights to hike Mt. Etna and asked our guide for a winery recommendation. Without hesitation, Luca suggested Gambino and our visit here proved him correct. I liked every wine I tasted and appreciated the quality of the various wines we tried. The accompanying food was given in healthy portions and added to the experience. The service was above and beyond and Federica made our overall visit even more enjoyable. I would recommend this winery to anyone looking for quality wine served by pleasant and knowledgeable staff while in Sicily.

The experience is amazing. The wine is very good and the cheeses too. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the view is great.
The host was very welcoming and the platter given with the wine is very tasty. I particularly loved the olive oil which is also done by them.
Definitely a must visit if you’re a wine lover.

Olá Suileni, a vinicola fica bem afastada da cidade não tem como ir de transporte público. Sugiro ver em Catania alguma excursão para lá.
Vale muito a pena ir!

Can anyone please advise or recommend the best way to get to this winery from this cruise terminal.

I would recommend you to contact a tourism agency for this transfer as there is no direct way to arrive there.
There are actually 2 parts: Messina-Taormina about 55 km which can be done by bus/car on A18 or train, then you need to start going up on Etna volcano till Gambino Winery which is not served by public transportation.
