Built in the XIV century, it was designed to protect the "Via Francigena": the way from Canterbury to Brindisi, used buy the Crusaders. Later, in the XIX century, it was used as a source for building materials....

Placed on the oldest Roman Way and also base for pilgrims on the Francigena the Tower was part of a Castel Borgo
