Well preserved historical remains

The site has a visitor entrance with several displays and historical background. The fort itself is well preserved and you can walk through what remains of the structure.

Visiting Brasil many many times, we decided that Praia do Forte is the best place for us. Reasons: The ocean is very calm by low tide. Snorkelling possible, children are safe, the beach is clean, nice service at the beach (Caipiriñas served by the beach guys are fantastic, the town is car free, all restaurants are really nice. We ate... More

Praia do Forte is a good option to visit the Northern Coast of Bahia. It is ideally located (65 Km from Salvador de Bahia) and offers plenty options of accomodation - from 5 stars resort to pousadas. The main beaches of Praia do Forte have natural pools, with warm and transparent waters at low tide. The town itself is not... More

Now this beach I think is amazing in all forms. It has music and food and nice warm water and safe for kids of all ages. Now the shopping and restaurants in the beach town is overly priced. So I say if staying in a hotel make sure to get lots of snacks and try and get room with breakfast... More

Good staff at the natural pools. We rented the material and they were very helpful. We got a lot of pictures of our diving.

We were there for the afternoon to visit the Tamar proyect. Loved it and loved the village, pintoresque and streets and shops. Certainly worth a visit. They told us to stay on the Main Street for safety which we did, it didn't feel insecure at any time. We left at nightfall to return to our hotel that was a few... More

Praia do Forte is a very pretty and exiting place to go to!...The village seems touristy but nice. In the beginning of the beach you find a port, a bit further you have an opportunity to snorkel, but I would recommended to walk for another 10-20 minutes along the coast. There you'll find amazing quiet parts. Waves can be sometimes strong,... More

The place is a touristic icon for the south beaches of Salvador. Still it`s worth the visit and even if you can a stay for some days as it`s a beautiful beach with a nice, very well integrated with the nature village. very warm feeling all around. Has some interesting typical local handwork and a preservation of the manatee wildlife... More
