The place is like stepping into an Amazonian jungle. Upon entry you are mesmerised by the tropical atmosphere, greenery as far as the eyes can see and marvelous incline of the landscape. If you have an interest in flora, fauna or floristry it is a must - if you don't have a interest, it is still worth visiting as it... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We used the audio recording and found it informative, easy to use and you can just skip over any parts you find less interesting. Very well organised and the nicest gift store we've come across after 2 weeks in Malaysia. The food at the restaurant was also fantastic (menu a tad pricey but worth it).

I recommend that you book a guide for this trip who will be able to explain to you all about the plants, it's origin, various uses. The guide we had was very good which visit do much more enjoyable even for my 2 teenagers. This is a pleasant place to visit - cool, lush and green and a pleasant change... More

A very nice garden, with great audio-guides to tell you about the spices and flora of Penang, Malaysia and Asia in general. An artfully recreated tropical rainforest with spice garden terraces and beautiful ponds. A great place to spend your afternoon walking and learning new things!

The spice gardens are extremely beautiful and tranquil showing you not just different spices from around the world but also different plants some of which are now becoming extremely rare When you enter you can pay a small amount more for bug spray - I highly recommend this as you are in the jungle and there are plenty of bugs... Beautiful tropical spice gardens well worth a visit. I didn't try the food there, but it sure smelt good cooking... A word of advice, pack your mozzie repellent. The mosquitoes are thick here. The staff provide a free repellent (based on lemongrass) when you arrive, but I prefer more potent stuff in these types of environments. Also, the site is... More

The gardens weren't very nice, haphazard and challenging due to uneven walking trails and slopes. However, nice huge swing in the middle and a hammock. The greatest reward is the gift shop, good for purchasing spices and cook books, and the Tree Monkey Cafe that serves Thai styled food. FREE WIFI TOO😀

We were there early so parking wasn't an issue although it was by the road. Paid for the audio guide which was extremely helpful which we then took our time exploring. Got to know about the various plants/herbs and it's use which was interesting. The map came in handy as it made navigating easy. There were many interesting items at... More

The garden is just so beautiful. Big sign from the road and climb up through the gates. Could spend hours here but really two is sufficient. We had a tour from an incredibly clever and interesting lady.
