The Majestic Himalayas

Snow View point is excellent. A bird’s eye view of Nainital lake. You can also see snow capped mountains. You can go by ropeway or car.

Glimpse of Himalayan Range
Dec 2020
One can reach to this place by trekking or ropeway. From top, there are two different views, one side is a panoramic view of Nainital town and Naini Jheel, and another side there are snow covered Himalayan range. Fun place for kids.

Nice View

The best views are when you travel to Mukteshwar, though. Hence not a "must see point" while at Nainital

Great place for a view

Gives a good view of snow laden Himalayan mountains. There are binoculars placed too (paid ones), and there are shops nearby where you can have all sorts of snacks and meals. You must go towards the old Governor’s house too, where you can find an even better viewpoint- which overlooks the Naini lake and the hills beyond.

if you are into mountains for the first time and if you want to see snow covered peaks... you should go there .
Else you can omit this from your plan.

First Glimpse of Himalayas
Feb 2020
There is a rope-way service to reach the top, but instead we chose to hike all the way. There are many routes to climb, and all are well paved. It took almost an hour for us to reach the top. From top, there are two different views, one side is a panoramic view of Nainital town and Naini Jheel, and another side there is Himalayan range. Since, we went this place on our first day in Nainital, it was a first time we saw the Himalayan peaks from short distance. We visited this in February second week, and it was just few days after snowfall. There was good and clear snow all over at the top. If you are not good at walk, can get rope-way. Overall, a good place to enjoy.

Point of View

It is a place from where you can view the snow covered peaks of the Himalayan range as well as have an enchanting view of the Naini jheel from the top . It seemed to be a happening place cause there was a constant flow of visitors . We did take a peek but were unlucky because it was a cloudy day .

Place to enjoy snow
Jan 2020 • Family
Snow view point can be reached by cable car which is 300 per adult for both ways or by car or trek. The view point on the top gives good views of nainital and the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy snow here during the months of December and January. There are some shops and eateries on top of the mountain. The cable car ride is a 5 min ride one way and can accommodate 10 ppl max. You have to stand in the cable car. The cable car itself gives you astonishing views of the lake and city. A must do during snow time to enjoy fresh snowfall

We went in a cale car which was a god experience. I had several exciting cable car rides all over the world and stil love this . Better dont go in car(hired) which was not that safe .

There are 2 views .Lake view and snow point view .So make sure you enquire the correct path to go else you will miss it . I have seen snow capped mountains all Europe but this is a unique experience to see the mighty snow capped Himalayas!

Be aware of the weather before you go
Jan 2020 • Couples
It's a good place to visit however, if you are in Nainital to view snowfall, then this place can be skipped as you will not get any view of Himalayas because to cloud. It's good to go in morning, on clear days as that's the only time you will have a great view.

For snowfall, just njoy it at any other place.

If you are going by taxi, if permitted, take it to the top and no need to go by ropeway. Also, make sure taxis are allowed as even taxi drivers many times want to avoid going to the top to save their driving.

You get an hour to stay on top of you are going. Enjoy!
