    Good views and relaxing walk
Good place to relax on a boat ride. Suggest take the longer ride to the end of the other side. Getting to the boat was very crowded but once the ride started it was good and relaxing. Views are good. We did it in the evening around 6 so got a little of sunset view.

    A boat ride in heaven
Whether taking a boat ride in the lake or just walking along it on the Mall Road, the views are breathtaking. You can feel the peace by just looking around at the scenery of tall mountains, and if weather is by your side then low clouds too. There are other activities that are offered at the lake, but the lake itself has become dirty and polluted due to the large number of tourists that throng it every year.

    Mesmerisingly beautiful lake
We visited again in October 23 after more than 3 decades and the lake is still green, pretty as ever. You get to see it as soon as you enter the town and it is a sight to behold. I have seen many lakes in hill towns but none as pretty as this one.

    Beautiful Lake
Beautiful lake. We did boating and enjoyed the view of the city from the lake. Boat ride is a must do activity when visiting Nainital. In wind was a bit chilly even in the late January afternoon even though the sun was shining bright, so dress warmly.

    Beautiful place
Nainital is a beautiful hill station located in Kumaon Hill in the state of Uttarakhand, India. There are lots of things to do near the lakes of Bhimtal and Sattal, the two must-visit lakes in the city. If you are traveling in Nainital, you can take a ropeway to Snow View, which is the best place to go with family. Since I am an adventure buff and cave garden. I took a mini trek to the China peak, which made me feel so close to nature. When in the Mall road which is in the heart of the city and in the side of Lake. If you are planning a romantic weekend getaway with a family tour or student tour, Nainital is the best place for you.

    Great
This is a one of best lake in series of my touring journey. Even Dal Lake beauty is fade in front of this lake. Cleanliness is maintained by government authorities. Boat and fish make the boating fantastic. I suggest everyone must go here at least once in a life. I request all of tourists, please maintain cleanliness and hygiene in this location for next generation

    Great
The town is centred around the emerald mountain lake Naini, which on most days is dotted with colourful sailboats. According to mythology, the lake is believed to have been formed when the eyes of goddess “Sati” fell at this spot while her body was being carried by Lord Shiva after her death. The exact depth at some point in the lake is not yet introduced. People don't know the exact depth because the one entered to do so has never returned.

Lake is beautiful, scenic and clean. It is surrounded by mountains. Water colour is green not transparent.

You can explore lake by boating or by both side road walking. (Both recommended)

Pedal boats you can rent and explore lake by yourself.
Rowing boat can also be rented by yourself and also person will be with you.
Canoe boats are also there.

Pedal boats Rs 210/hr

Rowing boats Rs 420/hr with person. Rs210/half hour with person.

You should buy boating ticket directly from counter located at three different spots on naini lake. I tried to bargain for Rs 210 full lake round(1hr) but they didn't budge, so I paid rs 420/1hr/full lake round on rowing boat with person.

On their counter, even Rs 210 full round mentioned but they still won the argument that it's doesn't say that price is for rowing boat. ⛵ As per them its for paddling boat.

Boating counter staffs and rowing staff were good in nature and behaviour and will tell you interesting things while you enjoying boating.

Boating is totally recommended and will have a memorable experience.

Swimming not allowed. Few small fishes are there. Has around 25mt depth. You can capture photos and videos of beautiful mountains while boating.

Overall good experience.

Go there in evening, and spend minimum 2 hrs there. One can take a boat ride which is so affordable at Rs 210, or can grab a cup of coffee, have some snacks, shop around, or visit the adjacent Naina Devi Temple. But what one must not miss, is taking a walk on the “Thandhi Sadak”. This walkway road runs between the lake and a nearby hill, and probably that’s why named cold road. The road is a 1 Km long walking path, which provided splendid view of the lake and the town in the evening. So one must take a stroll in the evening on this less crowded road to feel the vibe of the lake and of Nainital. The road lies a bit hidden, near the Naina Devi temple, and runs to the opposite end of lake if you compare with Mall road (on one side Mall road, on another side- thandhi sadak). Both Mall road, as well as Thandhi Sadak, has its own charm for taking a stroll. Mall road is a bit crowded due to too many shops along it, Thandhi Sadak is not crowded. But both the roads provides their own charm in taking a quiet stroll. You can feel the vibe and the charm of Nainital, just by taking a leisurely walk on these two roads.

I found nanital to be extremely pretty. I am sure the lack of tourist and the off- month we went to does add to the quietness, slow travel experience and long peaceful walks we extremely enjoyed. The lake is beautiful, fishing is not allowed. Clean compared to other lakes but can surely have stricter laws about tourist throwing their garbage in the lake while boating. It's a beautiful place. Preserve it.

Naini Lake is the biggest attraction of Nainital. Its big and cover all Mall road in length. Weather changes quickly there and you feel like you are in different world. Boating in lake is must and if you stay there long enough you will see mist building rapidly and change in weather. We planned to do one round but ended up doing one more.

The Nainital lake is the main attraction of Nainital. The lake has boating facility for paddle boat as well as rowing boats . The lake has a perimeter of about 4.5 km and it's a beautiful walk around the water body in the morning or evening. The boat ride costs about Rs.210 per boat. On one side of the lake is the mall road which has many shops & restaurants. Parking around the lake is next to impossible. Better to hire a cab or a cycle rickshaw. If you are driving to Nainital, do book a hotel with parking facility otherwise you may have to park your car about 5-6 km from your hotel & hire a taxi. The place is very well maintained & kept clean by the administration even with so many tourists visiting the hill station. Nainital Lake is a must visit since so many other places like Naina Devi lake, Zoo, Boat House Club, Church & other prominent places are located in very close proximity to the lake.

This lake is looking very serene and greenish waters. We have roamed the full lake district in United Kingdom but this is nothing less than any other lake there. Incredibly peaceful and the naini temple located on the banks of the river is very special too. One can enjoy boating here either in the early evening or during day time. Lovely views and nice climate.

Naini Lake is a scenic location. This is surrounded by green lush mountains making a beautiful V shape. The city of Nainital is located around this lake which you can see for yourself during this boat ride.
You must do the complete boat ride which is for an hour & cost of the ticket is quite reasonable 210/- per person.
Preferable time - morning hours, 10 to 12 noon.

It is the centre of attraction of Nainital. The lake looks a lot cleaner now. You can take a boat ride on the lake to have a good view of Nainital and surroundings. There is lot of local shopping around the place. There is also a large car park which is a relief. A good place to visit with family and friends.

We had a wonderful experience of boating in Nainital lake.. I was happy to see it very organized. There are several counters where you can pay and get a boat suitable to your needs. We got a 2 peddler. We travelled in July'22 (monsoons) so there was no mad rush an the lake was totally covered with clouds. It was raining a little but the views from the lake was quite awesome. Must recommend this place in off season.
