Snorkeling and Boat trip in Crete

45 reviews
Snorkeling is very relaxing and at the same time a very exciting activity which is suitable for all ages. Join us in a daily (morning or afternoon) guided “snorkeling” trip, take the mask, fins, snorkel and shorty wet suit from us, board on our 10 meters shady rib boat and take the chance to relax watching the marine life of our island.

We visit always two different spots with a lot of marine life, such as caves and an open water area always depends on the weather conditions

We went to the Lake by car and parking is free (avoid the 2 Euro parking offer at the top, and continue down the hill at the entrance). The lake is beautiful. My photo was taken from a lay-by half-a-mile up the road southwards. Hire a pedal boat for an hour (we paid 15 Euro for a boat for six - negotiated down from 18). Pedal straight across the lake to the other side to see turtles and (what look like) goldfish. Everyone has a swim and the water is clear, fresh and beautiful. A brilliant day out!

Wonderful place to visit on Crete. The water is very bright and you can rent some paddling boats. The sunbeds are free.

Friday 21st August and we drove here from our hotel in Analipsi, a distance of about 150 kilometres, a 2 hour drive. We were not disappointed, here has something for everyone and is a great day out. We were greeted at the entrance by a very helpful guy, he explained about hiring the pedalos, swimming in the lake and the nature reserve. The pedalos were €10 to hire for one hour on the Lake. Paddle boards were also available. He also informed that some of the pathway was submerged in water, due water levels of the Lake. It is not possible to walk around the entire Lake at any time. There are a small number of sunbeds and umbrellas which are free of charge, which visitors can use. It is the only freshwater lake on Crete and has a perimeter of 3.5 kilometres. The water was so clear we could see the turtles and fish. There were a number of tavernas around the area. There was also free parking by the Lake.

Fantastic day trip. Beautiful sweet water lake, for walking, swimming, pedal boating and the images tell all. Tips; Would arrive morning and weekdays calmer. Its set within a Valley & the sun is piercing so hat, suncream, water necessary. Lots of eateries & over priced souvenir shops. We ate at Georgia’s Taverns, up the hil and on the left 👍🏻delicious
