The park was opened in 2014 and for the most part is lovely and cleen with lots of flowers in the summer. Alot of money has been spent by the council in velez and its turned it into a really lovely place to visit. The views of velez from the different miradors are cracking and the ermita its self is a must with its very unique paintings. Easiest way to reach on foot is go past the san francisco food market, upto the right past the palacio and cross over the road and the sign post is there. There is parking if you have mobility issues.but its a pretty easy uphil 5 min walk. There is sign posts for a cafe and toilets but i guess they never bothered as we havnt food them. Maybe they only open in the summer.…

Very pleased we found this place. The gardens are lovely and the chapel beautiful. We came up again when it was dark when it was all lit up and it was magical. The views are amazing. In the day you can see down to the coast and at night you can see all of Velez lit up.

It is set in beautiful gardens with water features and has fabulous views across to the fortress, La Fortaleza, and down to the sea. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Inside, the wall paintings were done by one man over 12 years, a real labour of love.…

Remits de Nuestra Senora de los Remedios is a beautiful chapel situated on a hill opposite the Fortress. You can drive most of the way and we found some street parking within a 5 minute walk. The Chapel is surrounded by a large paved area with views to the fortress and across to the surrounding countryside. You enter through an area that is adorned with plants and I assume these are tended to daily as they looked well tended. Inside the relatively small Chapel is a delight. Most of the walls have beautiful scenes painted on them. The alter is also beautiful. There are what appear to swallows on two stained glass windows. The Virgin stands serenely on a pedestal. If you are in Vélez-Malaga then this is a must see.…
