About
Apart from offering you the opportunity to tour the production section of our winery, we also organize tastings in our wine cellar modelled after the ancient Roman dining rooms, which is why we have named it Triclinium. All our products are available for tasting. The wine tasting can be held in the Croatian or English language. Reservation in advance is required.

All the wines were nice and of high quality and so was the interior, lively tasting cellar. The tour around the winery was okay and informative. The presentation of each wine at the table was okay but seemed rehearsed and without anecdotes or personal engagement. And for 30 euros per person, we would have expected more than two cheeses and some olives to go with the wine tasting, Perhaps especially since the cheeses were not local produce. All in all a good experience but little value for money.

Giving 3 stars but would prefer a null value to not affect their rating. We went to Dubokovic Wine instead - here’s why:
We called at 12:00 to make a reservation for a tasting and were told that group tastings were at 2:00 and 5:30. We said this is fine, asked if we needed to put our names down, were told yes, proceeded to give our names and then the lady on the phone almost seemed annoyed that we were in fact coming and just said “ok be here 10-15 minutes early”.
We drove to Jelsa and decided to stop at Dubokovic Wine on the way real quick since it was 1:30. They hadn’t answered the phone earlier (turns out the owner was in the field tilling and couldn’t hear his phone ring) so we didn’t think they were open. When we walked in and they were, we were immediately glad we stopped. We called back to cancel our reservation at Tomić and the same lady was almost joyous we weren’t coming. Not a great look in the hospitality environment and we are by no means wine or restaurant snobs. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but from talking to other travelers, canceling was the right decision. A previous review talks about them having great quality wine, large groups, a passionless rehearsed monologue about everything, and overall below average value for $30/person. I would say we heard the same from several other people in person. I will give this winery another shot if we come to Hvar again but can say that it seems the smaller wineries provide more intimate and passionate/interesting experiences.

We drove to Jelsa from Hvar and walked into Tomic (not on a tour) and asked to do a wine tasting. We were met by a death stare Kanye West would be proud of.
We walked down to the tasting room in awkward silence and then was given one tasting glass to share between two of us without so much of an explanation of what the wine was. After we asked a few questions with short answers we stood there in awkward silence waiting to try another wine... It never came... Not so much as a comment from her as we quietly walked out.
I have never been made to fee so worthless before. So humiliating.
It sounds like from the below reviews you are treated differently on a tour there.

They only accepted visitors with reservation. So we drove all the way from Hvar city to Jelsa (because they did not answer the phone) and when we reached the winery the hostes informed us that a reservation was mandatory.

We are very sorry there were not available terms for a wine tasting in Tomić winery, as well as for rating us negatively. Tomić Winery is a winery with a long tradition of wine making and wine growing, and for the past 15 years we have been very successful in wine tourism due to the expertise of our employees, quality of service and professionalism. Because of the great interest of the people for wine tours, and to be able to provide quality service, the business policy is to have a reservation in advance (what is noted in all our promotional materials, website, Facebook, and other media…). Of course, in the case of an available term, regardless of booking, we will be happy to accommodate each guest. Once again we are very sorry for not having available term for You, and we believe this review will help other people to book a wine tasting on time, to ensure availability.
All the best,
Bastijana d.o.o.

Great tasting red, white and rose wines. Beautiful winery with nice views. Price for a tasting was good as well. If you are Hvar stop by if you like local wines.

We visited this winery last week. This is the #1 thing my sister wanted to do on our 2 week vacation. How disappointing! The staff was flippant, As if we were a bother. As was the owner. As a wine enthusiast, We expected so much more. The wine is average at best, & the whole experience was a total let down . If you want a fabulous wine experience in Hvar - Dubokvic Winery is a must!!

We had a group of 12 (3 children under 10) on the wine tour and we all had a blast. We booked our tour directly through the winery's website and had no problem doing so. Everyone was able to pay separately for their tour at the end of the day, which we greatly appreciated with having multiple parties in the 12. The wine was amazing and the food pairings were perfect. They were so accommodating and brought out more food when we would eat them too soon! I think every adult in our party ended up purchasing wine to go. My family (3 of the 12) brought back 4 bottles to the United States and have greatly enjoyed sharing this wonderful Croatian wine with our family and friends! We had no issues during the tour having 3 children with our party, and the tour guide was so gracious to give them all juice while we had our tasting!
