- StudioCoryBoston, Massachusetts3 contributionsThis place is extremely cool. We were very surprised that we didn't see any reviews that it was kind of difficult to find. Go to the right side of the building, and on a black door with white chalk it will say "call this number." Just call that and he will let you in. Wild experience. Once you are in, it will be one of the coolest wine tasting experiences you will ever attend. Very intimate, dark, with candles. Wine was amazing. Owner is very nice and knowledgeable and has as much fun with it as you do. Every local that we told we had been here told us that this place is known around the country as one of the best wineries. You can purchase bottles after your tasting at a fantastic price as well. We were out of cash, and only were able to snag one bottle, but we will be shipping some home soon!Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 30, 2024
- Michael P7 contributionsGreat small winery. Doesn’t feel over commercialized like some wineries and more like a family hobbie. Went here instead of Tomić and are glad we did as it was a more intimate experience in their basement/cellar. Our server Stipè was a great upbeat guy to talk to about the Croatian islands in general he’s visited and other towns on Hvar. Highly recommend calling ahead and trying to time going when it won’t be busy or ask for the least busy times. We were lucky and at one point the only couple in their candle lit cellar with beautiful barrels of wine. $26 included olive oil tasting and 8 wine tastings plus 2 extra fills.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 18, 2024
- James N33 contributionsExcellent wine and host. We attended the wine cellar as part of another tour where this was the second destination. The contrast of the experience was unique, the host, albeit had only been there for just over a week, had a great understanding and knowledge of the wines and history. The family owned establishment provided a great selection of wines for us and tasty snacks as well. The opportunity to look around the cellar and learn about the not only the owners but the history was very interesting for me and my partner. The wine selection varied across white, orange, rose and red ranging from light to fuller bodied wines with a range of notes and flavours.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 22, 2024

This winery was recommended to us by our rental car agency in Hvar. We showed up without a reservation, and the host graciously brought us in and allowed us to do a two person tasting. The atmosphere is so mesmerizing and romantic! The tasting takes place within a dark candlelit room, surrounded by wine barrels and bottles. The wine maker led the tasting which included 11 wines and some of their homemade olive oils (also phenomenal!). This was our last day of our 2 1/2 week trip in Turkey and Croatia, and this was our favorite wine of the entire trip! The ONLY downside is we could not ship all of them back to the US :( If you are in Hvar and looking for some good wines/olive oils, we highly recommend a stop at this amazing winery. You will not regret it!

What a great time we have had at Dubokovic Winery! Owner is very kind and passioned about his company and wines/olive oils. I saw a review here about that they just give a drip of each glass but it is nonsense. For a tasting it is great (you got to try 8 of them) and after every glass the owner asked if we wanted another sample! After the experience you have the chance to buy some bottles and in my opinion they are great value. If you got the time go check it yourself!

Came here as part of our half-day wine tasting tour with Leo of Hvar Tours and this was our first stop. Our guide Leo acted as our sommelier there too. We were greeted by a nice ambiance, wine-tasting by candlelight, got to taste five (5) wines, and served cheese, bread, and four (4) kinds of olive oils (basil was my favorite). I enjoyed Medvid (red, Plavac Mali) so much that I had to take a bottle back home. Highly recommend this winery.

A truly memorable experience in a dark, romantic candle-lit cellar. The tasting was at a nice wooden table surrounded by wine barrels. We tasted 9+ wines with the reds impressing us the most. Very sweet hosts and educational tasting experience. The tasting included olive oils, bread and cheese which was a nice touch. Note: there is no signage from the road, looked just like a house but luckily our cab driver knew where the entrance was (along the side of the building).

It's pretty hard to have a bad time wine tasting, but this is a particularly lovely experience. It's in the basement of the winery (and home?), candlelit, and just a lovely hour with nice wines and tasty infused olive oils.

Wonderful hidden gem winery in Jelsa. We loved our tasting and even brought our friends that were locals. While reds are my favorite they had excellent whites, rose and orange wines. All in an intimate atmosphere.

My husband and I found this winery ourselves while driving around Hvar. It was a little tricky to find, but I'm SO GLAD we found it. Best winery we've ever been to (and we've been to a lot). We were able to sample 9 wines and try 4 different oils. We were also given some cheese and bread with our tasting. Our host was very attentive and explained everything in great detail. Amazing atmosphere and very romantic. What a fun afternoon!! You must go here!

We vistied the Dubokovic winery for a tasting session as part of a tour and were shown into a dimly lit room and given a corner table. On the table was a plate of bread and a plate of cheese. We had only eaten breakfast an hour and a half previously. There were also four bottles of olive oil to try - normal, with sage, with basil and with oregano, all very tasty and available to buy for about five quid.
Then the tastings began, it started with a rose and a proper measure that we could drink, none of this spitting out nonsense. It then moved on to an orange wine, three different reds and a dessert wine. All were excellent, particularly the dessert wine, which I normally don't like and we had a proper glass of each. Six glasses in and the bread and cheese were demolished.
This was a fantastic tasting experience, with proper measures, great wines and food with absolutely no hassle. Superb.

Extremely extremely skimpy on the tasting samples. Maybe 2tablespoons per pour. One good wine out of the several we tasted. The dessert wine was good. If I was a tour director I would avoid this. Yes the candles were a nice touch but hey we were here to taste wine. The basil olive oil was flavorful. Go to vina Huljic.
