Beautiful

I've been coming here since I was a child and it's still a magical place. Breathtaking scenery and lovely walks. Feel free to just drive along the heritage trail or ditch the car and explore the area. Be prepared for windy conditions and the sudden appearance of fog.

The road west from Bunclody crosses Mount Leinster, it is a very scenic drive known as The Mount Leinster Heritage Drive. Several car parks to park at and go for a walk.

A beautiful getaway with wonderful walks and trails. There are many beautiful scenes and views over the counties of South East Ireland. Perfect for daytrippers and trekkers, check it out for yourselves!

Always refreshing

Mount Leinster with its drives and walks is always a great place to visit to blow away the cobwebs.
Whether you park and walk or park and sit it's worth the narrow roads to get there.

Worth the visit.

Myself and my boyfriend went here yesterday, it's a bit steep and the tarmac was melting ( because of the heat we experienced this past week) , but it was definitely worth every step. When you reach the very top you're able to see Wexford, Carlow, Kildare etc.

Ps. Pack a snack and enjoy the view.

spectacular views of The Carlow Wexford countryside from the top

I climbed to the top in one of Ireland's hottest Junes in 40 years , a serious climb there is a road but its a service road to a telecommunications mast at the top and can not be used to drive up by visitors to the blackstairs mountains , your free to walk the road by sadly if you want to get to the top its by foot, its a serious climb , your going to break a sweat but the views at the top will make it worth it.

Misty but fun

Great way to blow the cobwebs away or work of one of those amazing full Irish Breakfast we had all been having.

Try and get there before or after the mist as I am sure you will enjoy the view.

Gorgeous Views
Apr 2017 • Family
The drive is definitely not for the faint of heart! Stop part way up for a little break and a beautiful view and then keep going and enjoy the breathtaking view from up top. The parking lot provides a great spot to start your hike up. Perfect for families it isn't dangerous or too strenuous. We were fortunate enough to witness a group of wild horses climbing up and then grazing around the lot...beautiful!

Definitely worth a visit. Been here twice now and loved it both times. Prepare for bad weather. The wind and rain can be severe. But that is part of the fun of the walk. It has a road all the way so trainers are fine walking boots not needed.
