It has both monastery as well as a Monastic University. If you are lucky you can see the Tibetian monks praying and taking classes as well. The place offers amazing view and if you are a photography lover you can spend endless time here.

Ranka Monastery is a Buddhist pilgrimage destination visited on 7.11.2019 after visiting Banjhakri waterfalls. It's a beautiful scenic place. The sprawling complex is set in the middle of serene forested hills which is an example of sacred architecture. Besides the magnificent scale of building construction, its exquisite murals, statues and appreciable embellishment. Ranka monastery brings a wonderfully architectural serene view to all visitors

The Buddha Idols are beautiful and breathtaking so is the interior of the monastery. One must not miss this place even if one gets tired with all monastery visits in Sikkim.
