Scuba diving !! Well .. if this is your first underwater experience, then chances are that you will like this experience. If you have dived anywhere else, then you will be disappointed. The booking experience was great and was well coordinated by one Ms Madhu. The dive office was clean. Had clean wash rooms and change rooms with locker facility. The intro session by Mr. Shankar was crisp and clear. With some nice music …. Kudos for a good ambience in the office. We were asked to go through a practice session in a large tub which I recommend has to be reviewed. The water was definitely used by many and hence definitely has hygiene issues. Thought am not a certified diver, I have dived in places in India and outside India and this was not a practice anywhere. The place you board the dive boat is couple of kilometres away from the office. Will be good if you have your own transportation. You can park your bike/ car there. The boat ride to the dive spot was around 20 minutes. The dive crew took turns to take us down - think it’s 4 of us at a time with 4 separate drivers. This is a man made reef and hence you don’t get to swim around the place for the diving we chose. There were large schools of fishes. So you will not be disappointed if this is your first dive. It was just another experience for me and hence I was not very thrilled. But not disappointed as I like underwater experience and the limited marine life was still good to spend time with. And last, just when I was about to get into the water the dive leader Mr. Sid said no to me taking my underwater camera. The initial reason given was that this being my first dive, it’s in my safety interest and I can bring it the next time. When I said I had dived in other places, the PADI rule came from nowhere stating the rule does not allow that as I am not a certified diver. Well.. I did not want to pick an argument and have simply obliged. However during the time I spent at their office earlier, the staff there was checking out my camera and even suggested that I use a housing case so that the camera will be more safe. And I have taken this camera in all my previous dives by myself. Looks like they are possessive about ‘their’ reef and didn’t want his guests to get pictures of it. So my expectation was definitely not meet. I was offered a under water photography course (that was funny 😊) .. I would rather dive in Andaman for a great true experience. My recommendation - if this is your first dive and you don’t have any plans to travel abroad outside India or to Andaman, go ahead with this place for your first dive experience. If you have dived elsewhere or have plans to travel abroad, you can ignore this. Tip - If you like under water photography, then please check with them if you can take your camera during the dive when you do the booking with them so that you don’t get disappointed.

First time out Scuba Diving and couldn't have asked for a better team to have done it with. Sachin was a patient instructor and really did ensure we got things right during training. Being pedantic myself, Siddharth provided nuanced information around the more scrupulous aspects such as tank capacities, the different layers of filtration and scuba diving in general. For those who've never done this before, or even the ones who don't know swimming - you're in good hands. I'd certainly like to revisit to bump my skills up, if time permits.
