The British-era rifles, other ammunition, artworks, ornaments of wives of British officers, possessions of Indian freedom fighters, Portuguese artworks and wines have been displayed in the museum. It was really worth-visiting

This place should be in the top of things to do in Pondicherry. This place is in the Quarter very close to Mother's ashram.

One needs to visit this place to get a sense of Mahakavi Bharathiyar.

This place is maintained beautifully. In general our museums are not maintained properly. But this place was a delight. It had loads of well maintained pictures, articles, poems, etc etc. This gives us a sense of who Bharathiar was. What all struggles he face, who all were his friends, who worked with him, which books, poems, journals he wrote etc etc.

Will take 2-3 hours to go over each photo/article understand, relish and feel good that we belong to a country where Bharathiyar was born.

Let's make this place known to a lot of people so that it gets more visibility.

This is neat clean museum. A narrative of the exhibits or a brochure would have helped. The staff is there to monitor that the people do not touch anything. They do not have much information of the exhibits. Worth a visit but not a very big deal.

Chinnaswami Subramania Bharati, also known as Bharathiyar (1882 – 1921) , a Tamil writer, poet and journalist, Indian independence activist and social reformer from Tamil Nadu. Known as "Mahakavi Bharati", he was the pioneer of modern Tamil poetry. Though Bharati was considered as a people's poet, he was also a great nationalist, outstanding freedom fighter and social visionary. His numerous works were songs of patriotism and nationalism during the Indian Independence movement. Born in present Thoothukudi, Bharati had his early education in Tirunelveli and Varanasi and worked as a journalist, teacher, Raja Kavi, etc. Bharati was also an active member of the Indian National Congress. Due to an arrest warrant In 1908, Bharati (by the government of British India for his revolutionary activities) fled to Puducherry, where he lived until 1918. Bharati's works were on varied themes covering religious, political and social aspects. Bharatiyar’s Songs are very often used In Tamil films and in many music concerts throughout India and overseas. The museum can be more enjoyed by one who is fluent in Tamil. Our Local representative could explain more details. The premises is very clean & well maintained. Four wheeler Parking is a big problem at many places in Pondi

Interesting and absorbing. Tamil Poet & freedom fighter Subramania Bharathi's life history showcased in place where he lived shortly. Felt one's trip to Pondicherry is not complete if this place is not visited. House converted into Museum is well maintained & clean. One can understand the art of communication & expression in those days. It is elder's responsibility to highlight to the children about our past and their struggles to retain their identity and how they connected & respected Gandhiji. Appreciate Govt.'s support.

Those who manage and created it must be appreciated. The museum gives a highlight of thiru bharathiyar's personal and literary endeavors. Though it's clean and compact in size I wish they had maintained and refurbished his home in it's old form( which is shown in one of the exhibits) . Nevertheless it's nice to see this place well maintained. It would nice if they can make audio exhibits of his works, afterall it's my humble request.
