About Tenerife Guided Walks
So you thought Tenerife was all about the sun, sea and sangria, but what you probably don’t know is that the Island also offers a full range of landscapes and micro climates from moon-like deserts and ancient lava flows to beautiful lush green laurel forest, mountain ravines and coastal paths. I offer a full range of guided hikes all over Tenerife from daily walks to walking holidays with 3-5 days walking and accommodation included. I customise my service to suit individual needs from leisurely strolls along easy trails to negotiating challenging ancient volcanoes and lava flows. My group sizes are normally no more than 6 people, however, larger group walks can be arranged upon enquiry. Let’s discover Tenerife’s Great Outdoors together.

Masca from above

This picturesque alpine hike explores a high undulating ridge with some short steep ascents that offers panoramic views of the Laurel forest. We then follow a path deep into the sub-tropical rain forest where hanging lichen and mosses abound. This is without doubt one of the most important eco-systems on the island.
Then, just like magic, open countryside appears where we are given the most spectacular panoramic view the island of Tenerife has to offer. For the next 45 minutes or so, we are looking down on the Masca gorge and the surrounding volcanic landscape. On a clear day, the finale is a fabulous view of Mount Teide looming in the distance across the Santiago valley and the lava fields high above. Our hike then continues on easy footpaths through Pine forest and descends majestically into a valley which is reminiscent of the English countryside.
This is a moderate hike, 12 km with 375m ascent/descent over undulating ground. Maximum altitude 1100m taking approx. 4 1/2 hours.

The Wow Factor Walk

This is one of the best hikes on the island. If you want to experience the National Park and see Mount Teide from the best advantage point then this is for you.

Amazing Anaga

On 19th December 1994, this area was reclassified as Anaga Rural Park, creating a further three sectors within the confines of the park: Ijuana Integral Nature Reserve (T-1), El Pijaral Integral Nature Reserve and Los Roques de Anaga Integral Nature Reserve, and they were awarded the highest degree of environmental protection in order to guarantee the conservation of their fragile ecosystems. Access is also controlled to Monte de Aguirre, a rare ancient laurel forest.

The Tajinaste Trail

Probably the most famous flowers of the island are the giant Tajinastes Echium Wildpretii which bloom in the National Park in May. They only grow at an altitude of 2000m and are up to 3m in height. Also known as the tower of jewels and tajinaste rojo by the locals, this bizarre but beautiful plant is endemic to Tenerife and mainly found in the subalpine zone of Las Cañades de Teide.

Come and join us for this fabulous and easy hike. It is 8 km with 200 m of ascent/descent over undulating ground, maximum altitude 2,000 m taking approx 4 hours with a picnic stop for lunch (which you need to bring with at least 1L of water per person).

My third walk perfect in every way. These are not walks so much as treks or hikes. The ground is variable and climbs and descends. In my opinion use one or more poles which Andy offers for a charitable donation. As an averagely fit mid 70 year old I reckon that Andy’s

Review of: Masca from above
We went on 2 walks with Andy, both of which were varied and afforded magnificent views over the Masa, Mount Teide, almond blossom, cloud formations and the coast. The walks were challenging underfoot due to the rocky terrain and gradient of the hills. Andy took the walks quite
