Been here three times and found the venue to be clean, well ventilated with good acoustics. I’ve seen two ballets, with another booked for next month, and more recently The Tango Show which was fantastic. Some of the front row seats have obstructed views due to the placement of the speakers.

Last time we stayed in Los Cristianos, we saw the publicity for the Arona International Music Festival, but were due to go home before it started. We’d forgotten about it, but, happily, our recent visit coincided with some of the 2019 events, many of which were in this lovely modern civic theatre. To describe it as “intimate” might suggest that it’s small, which is far from true, but it’s really well designed to make audience and performers feel a kind of friendly togetherness. The acoustics are good and the seating is comfortable. The atmosphere is great; Spanish people have an infectious enthusiasm for community events and activities. That’s in no way meant to suggest that the entertainment wasn’t itself of high quality, but good things are always more fun when they’re shared with other people who are enjoying them, too. Our highlight was “Rock History”, with the Banda de Musica de Arona. This is a brass and woodwind orchestra consisting almost entirely of young people but we aren’t highlighting the band’s youth in any sort of patronising way. Their programme was an imaginative and eclectic mixture. My favourite item was a subtle “Supertramp” medley. It was a thoroughly accomplished performance, making for a hugely enjoyable evening.

Auditoria Infanta Leonor is situated in Los Christianos up the Main Street from the beach across from the road from the bp garage and behind the cultural centre. Theatre possibly holds about 800-1000 people. The box office is situated outside and is also a cafe. Tickets for performances can also be bought online and printed at any of the Internet cafes around. Well worth checking out the flamenco shows and ballets as they are not tourist orientated. We saw the Moscow ballet perform here when we we last in Tenerife. It was stunning.
