The fort is beautiful and is inexpensive! It has beautiful views of the surrounding valley. It is easy to find with directions.

Nice Historical Site

My wife and I have visited the fort on a handful of visits to Gracias. We enjoy it each time. It is a quick visit as the Fort is not that big, but it is in pristine condition. It has a great view of the city and with a $3 entrance fee it is well worth the visit. We would highly recommend this spot.

An interesting fortress
Jul 2019
This small fortress is worth visiting for its historic significance, views of the area, and the nearby sculptures. It is very easy to access and a great spot for photographs.

historic & postcard perfect
Feb 2019 • Solo
From the entry fee of only a few usd per person, the road leads up to the main parking lot, flat ground and easy access. The fort has been kept in outstanding condition with stunning views over Gracias and beyond. normally there is a monthly exposition held at this location but on this particular occasion everything was closed in preparation for the next art gallery and artisan expo.

just at the entrance of the fort there is a plaque giving a brief historic overview of the forte.

Lighting in the evenings makes the place even better. Very small area to see with few interesting display items.

Beautiful views!
Jun 2018
For the super affordable price of 30L it’s worth the trek up the steep hill to see the fort. Stunning views, rich history and a quirky sculpture garden.

Majestic colonial fortress

This place is absolutely a must see if you visit Gracias, Lempira. Just getting up there is an adventure specially at night because you get to see an impressive view of the lights of town.

On our visit their was an art exposition of a local artist, very beautiful paintings and sculptures welcomed us. Another room explains the history of this monument and the importance of Gracias during the Spanish colonization.

My favorite part was taking pictures with my family, the building has colorful lights that will make your pictures unique and beautiful.

Nice historical place with spectacular view
Inside the fortress is an exhibition about the history of the fortress and Gracias. There's also an art gallery.
You can visit this fortress, the thermal pools, casa Galeano, and the Celaque mountain for 95 lempira. Churches in the town are beautiful but mostly only open after 7 pm during week days.
