About
Water babies will love nothing more than a trip to Lanzarote Aquarium where they can see the largest collection of majestic marine life in the Canary Island. One of the Aquarium main goals is to educate visitors about the sea- that's why we have created displays with information about the importance of protecting the environment. For example ´The Aquarium Garbage´ an exhibition that explores the damage being done to the ocean, and what needs to be done to see fish that live in the beautiful blue beneath the waves. There are plenty of native Canarian species to spot throughout the visit such as turtles, blowfishes and tropical clown fish. The shark tunnel will delight young visitors and the hands- on experience in the touch- pools full of spiky sea urchins and slimy sea cucumbers.

Friendly staff. You could literally do the museum in ten minutes if you wanted. I do think it is slightly overpriced but has a lot of species. I like the recuperating of some of the animals but that poor turtle who is missing a limb has such a small space to manoeuvre. Turtles are my favourite animal and it was just so sad especially as they live so long. She looks so depressed as she already knew the ocean. I understand she could not survive in the wild but we were told when she gets a prosthetic limb she will be in a bigger tank..I hope so or even pray for her to be released in the wild some day.... The sharks will also spend a lifetime in captivity as we were told they were born there and they 'belong' to the aquarium. Animals have natural instincts and who thinks they could not be released some day? I say give them a chance!

    Omg a baby sea turtle!!
We stayed in Costa Teguise so made sense to Visit here while so close. Was a 10 min walk from our hotel. The staff were lovely. Rachel (Raquel) was so helpful and spent a lot of time showing us around and teaching our sons cool facts. We’re a sucker for aquariums so always enjoy them. Was even lucky enough to see their rescued 1 year old sea turtle names miracle. It was a special moment and just something you never see. They also rescue adult sea turtles injured. They have sharks and shark tube. The aquarium isn’t massive so you can really take your time and enjoy it. I believe it was €45 euros for a family of 4. Highly recommend. My only advice is I wouldn’t go here planning on spending the day but if you’re lucky enough to go on a Wednesday you will see the shark feeding time.

Not great, wouldn’t venture out especially
Some nice tanks to look in, the 2 big cinematic ones were great for both kids and adults. However, I wouldn’t waste your money. 15 euros per adult, tiny aquarium, HOT 🥵, done in 30 minutes. Had to keep lifting the kids up because around 2/3’s of the tanks were above their head height. We spent 60 euros for 30 minutes, it really is a rip off.

    Enjoyable and educational!
This was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The aquarium is small but the variety of fish and sea life is wide. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were there on a Monday and lucky to see the shark feeding, this only happens on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We also had the opportunity to see this amazing rescue turtle enjoying his lunch.

    Good activity
Had a nice time. It's a smaller aquarium then I had imagined but all the viewing holes for the large tank were cool. Enjoyed the feeding with the stingrays, it was great to see them being fed by divers and having the lady tell us about them as it was happening

Worth a visit if you are staying in the local area
This was a decent aquarium. It cost 40€ for two adults and two children (one two year old). They had large viewing windows of their main tank where can you watch the sharks and manta-rays being fed which was cool. The children enjoyed it and it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel.

    Great place
Visited yesterday was we were staying around the corner and had a late flight home, so took our toddler to pass some time and get out of the sun for a while. It is only a small aquarium but really is lovely and so well kept. I myself don’t really have a huge interest in fish and the visit was more for my toddler, but i throughly enjoyed the visit. The lady on the reception desk was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely return if ever in Costa teguise again

Great experience 10 out of 10
We visited the aquarium today and had a wonderful time, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful even organised a taxi for us to return to our hotel. They had a great variety of fish and aquatic life and great areas where you can sit and view. Great value for money with family discounts available.

    Amazing Experience in Costa Teguise
The aquarium is a must visit place in costa teguise! We visited just before midday on Monday when the feeding of the sharks and other fishes took place which was incredible to see. Our guide and all the other staff made the experience even better with their friendliness, knowledge and their true passion! We also loved that it is a place where injured turtles are kept to recover - really and truly an amazing place!

The aquarium was right around the corner from our hotel, El Trebol, so on a cloudy afternoon my partner and I decided to visit with an open mind after reading reviews on here.

There are quite a lot of tanks to look at, all with different things to see. Theres a couple of places to sit infront of the larger tanks and just watch the fish, which we did and enjoyed.

It would be entirely possible to walk through in 5 minutes, but if you take your time and enjoy the experience then you'll quite easily spend an hour or more there.

The aquarium is a little run down and unloved, but we were looking at the sea life, not the decor, so that didnt really bother us too much. The one thing about our visit that annoyed me a little was that the lady at the entrance mentioned you could interact with the fish, feeding etc and this was not possible, at least not while we were there anyways, so why she would mention it to us without us asking I'm not sure?

All in all, we enjoyed our visit and I dont think €15 was extortionate a price to pay for an hour and half that we enjoyed and while I wouldn't rush back, if I found myself in Lanzarote with an hour or two to spare I would go back.

Thank you for your review. It’s true that our feeding times are at 12 in the Morning, but we always explain that to our customers in case they want to come back.

Got the bus from puerto del carmen. The stop was fairly close to the aquarium, and for returning was just the opposite side of the road. The aquarium itself is small but interesting. My 4 year old really enjoyed it. The only issue I would have is a lot of the exhibits are very high up so you have to lift kids up to see them. I think it was 40€ for 2 adults and a child and we got round it in about 30 mins. I'd say if the child wa s a little older we could have gotten 45 to 60 mins out of it but all in all I'd recommend going.

My wife and I took our daughter to the Aquarium during our stay in Costa Teguise. You can probably get around the whole exhibition in a morning but there was building work going on whilst we were there so perhaps they are expanding.

The sealife on display was amazing (fish, crabs, sharks rays, turtles) and it was possible to really get close to the creatures and observe them at close quarters. There is a small theatre area facing a large tank where the highlight of our visit was watching a staff member in scuba gear feed the rays and sharks. I have also never seen a zebra shark get a massage but "Tommy" seemed to really enjoy it!

The staff were very knowledgeable, not only did they know their residents intimately, telling us their backstories, they also worked really hard to include all the visitors, manfully switching between Spanish, English and German!

What was nice to hear was that some of the sea creatures being cared for, such as the amazing turtles and "Pinky" the ray, had been rescued by the Aquarium after accidents with fishing boats and the like.

Would definitely recommend this attraction to families or people who are interested in sea life.

We visited the aquarium on a Wednesday specifically to see feeding time. It was amazing. Aiser was absolutely brilliant at explaining things to us and you could tell that he’s really passionate about his job. The receptionist was really good and remembered us from our enquiry the day before. It’s a relatively small place but it’s packed with exhibits and so interesting. Try to visit at feeding times, seeing the sharks and octopus feeding was brilliant. Take your time, your not pressured to go through in a rush. Definitely worth a visit, personally, I’d go back to see it again.

Small place not a match for aquarium in gran canaria. U won't spend more then 15 minutes inside . Over price at 15 euro . I would suggest dropping prices and charge 5 euro per adult

Went here by myself at the end of a solo trip to the island. From previous reviews I didn't expect much but I absolutely loved it. Yes it's small and €15 per adult, but I didn't feel this was too over priced considering some of the aquariums I have been to.

The staff are friendly. It's clean and cool inside. The tanks aren't over populated and some may appear empty but if you take your time and actually look you'll see the fish are just hiding.

If you are determined to get through as quickly as possible then you will. I spent 90 minutes and probably could've spent longer or even went round the whole thing again. I thoroughly recommend it for people of all ages who have an interest in marine life.

This is a great place with different fish to see as well as turtles. It was lovely to spend time to look at the fish in your own time no rushing. The admission fee was only €15 an adult. We only found it due to walking from our hotel to the beach.

Good place to spend 1 hour to see aquatic life.
At the moment some parts of it are under construction, so you will have restricted access. Verry friendly staff, everyone speaks english. Great prices as well for entrance and souvenirs, we got to see how they feed the turtles, then got to see sharks, baby sharks all sorts, worth the trip there !

It cost 15E for adults and 10E for a child so great value. Not the biggest aquarium I have ever seen but still full of bits and pieces.

Bring your own lunch and sit in the small amphitheater style seating in front of the large tank (there are two and the second one is better). We were able to sit there for half an hour eating and drinking, chatting and laughing with the very best view.

The hermit crab with the HUGE gorgeous shell was very impressive and the smaller hermit crab was in one of the open tanks that children can put their hands into and get there noses up close to the action (there were about 6 of these in total). You could touch starfish and much more. The walk through tunnel is pretty tiny and the view is 2 small sharks so I would say the best part is the larger tanks you can sit by. The huge stingrays were gorgeous and seem to sleep in the darker back corner but that’s where the bubble is that a child can sit in which means you were looking directly down in them.

We had a great time and I think maximum 3hrs but more likely 2hrs. The area around it is tired and dirty looking so it’s one of those go there and then go elsewhere places.

They have a whole area where rescued turtles are kept while the recuperate before being released back into the wild. When we were there 1 turtle was in-house and had 2 missing flippers so he may be there to stay.

They have one of those collector coin machines like the places in the UK so you will need a euro coin and a 5cent coin to take one of those home. We collect them so happy to see a machine there.

Entry is though a poorly stocked souvenir shop. When we descended the stairs there was a horrible mouldy smell. It took us and the the kids (12, 10 & 6) about 1 hour or less to go through museum. I only spotted 2 turtles even though they said they rescue a lot of them that ingest plastic at sea and release once cured.
The shark tank has 2 small sharks . As previously pointed out, fish descriptions are on a rolling computer screen in a few places. So you effectively have to read and memorise the descriptions as you walk through the aquarium as you see different fish. A simple board at each tank would be more effective
