Sunset in Zia

4 reviews
Charming Zia in the southernmost slope, whose superb location makes it the perfect spot for viewing spectacular sunsets and gazing at the nearby islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos as well as the Turkish coast in the distance.

During the summer the settlement of Zia is bursting with activity from the countless visitors who come to taste local delicacies served in charming traditional taverns, to purchase unique local products and souvenirs and to stroll through the cobblestone alleyways all the way up to its crystal-clear fresh water springs, the most well-known of which is Kefalovrisi.

This lovely museum relies on your generosity to function by way of donations only - the authorities do not fund it. The volunteers love to see visitors and want to keep and share their Greek heritage with you. I am amazed at how much is on display and what enthusiasm and tenacity they have to keep the doors open ( even at odd times ) Hosts David or Yannis are welcoming and make you feel relaxed and at home. Very very polite people. Please support the museum as I have done over the years for future generations and visitors. The volunteers are too proud to tell you any of this - so I have. Thanks John.

It was nice to see photos and the history of the place, the way things were done and the way they looked . Very nice of the locals to keep their history like that.
