It's a light house. Nothing special. Unless you are really into light houses.... It's on the far end of the island where you can find some rather nice, lonely beaches. It's quite a walk from the main beach, but it can be done in an hour or so. Hot though....
Or one of the motorbike guys can bring you for PHP 100.

We hired a couple of local lads with their motorbikes to take us around Malapascua.
They showed us the way to the lighthouse where you get an exception view of the west side of Malapascua.
We also visited North Beach which has a nice small beach bar and volleyball.

I'm reviewing the lighthouse not the beaches or the island. It's just a modern lighthouse on top of a hill. There is a very small rickety track very unsteady underfoot so be carful. When you get to the top there is nothing to see as it is all over grown. Really not worth the effort!

Finding this lighthouse was a mission in itself. Had to ask many locals then follow acouple of Americans who were looking for it too. We trekked up a rough path through bushland. Yeah it's worth a look if up at Langbob beach. Just an ok view but they should clear the path and make signs so people know where to go.

The nest way to get around Malapascua (because it's just that little bit too big to get around comfortably) is by 4 gear bikes. The narrow sand roads snake through the little homesteads up to the magnificent North Point beach and from there a side step to this lighthouse.

We went here late in the afternoon to catch the sunset. We rented a scooter and had a little bit of difficulty locating the pathway entrance going up the lighthouse. I suggest you hire a local motorcycle driver instead of driving there yourself.

Going up will require you to pass by some local houses and a little bit of hike through a trail with some vegetation. We were able to reach the base of the lighthouse but they say going up the lighthouse shaft is already prohibited.

A nice side trip when you have lots of time in Malapascua but you won't miss a lot if you don't go here.

You'll experience an other Malapascua if you do this walk to the lighthouse on narrow jungle trails entering villages with very friendly people next to the coast. No mosquitos on the way. Many coconut trees lost their head in taifun Yolanda. Lonely beaches. Starting from the last village we hired a 7 year old boy guiding us to the lighthouse. We recommend a motorbike for return.

Did a dive there and find that it's a very damaged site from the thypoon that whacked that area. Most of the corals are gone. I was looking for Mandarin fish
