A mecca of its own kind
May 2017 • Couples
The historical monument was built by Maharaja Karam Singh of Patiala in his reign. This monument have a history worth visiting. The Quila Mubarak comprises of Darbar Hall and Quila Androoni. The Darbar hall was converted into a heritage museum of arms and is open to the public. There are quite a few arms displayed. One of them being the sword of Shah Abbas of Persia and the sword of Nadir Shah which is known as Shikar Gah. The museum displays mesmerizing chandeliers which are made of Bohemian glass. If you are a fan of vintage cars, then this place is worth your visit. Fiat, a rear vintage car made in 1911 which was used by the then Maharaja of Patiala is at display along with Itala made in Beirut, London in 1903 stands showcasing its history. It's indeed a mecca for historians, photographers and vintage car lovers.

The historical edifice, dating back to 1845, was built by Maharaja Karam Singh of Patiala in his heydays. Quila Mubarak comprises Quila Androoni and darbar hall, the arms gallery that was thrown open to the public after being converted into a heritage museum. .

The sword of Nadir Shah, known as Shikar Gah and the sword of Shah Abbas of Persia lie tarnished. The rare chandeliers, made of Bohemian cutglass, are on display.

The two vintage cars, vintage Car Itala (1903) from Bleriot, London, and rear vintage car, Fiat (1911), of Patiala state, have a history of their own,

Beautiful building but badly maintained

Amazing building in an amazing complex but in a really terrible state of repair. The collections are labelled in archaic English but some are hard to see through dust and dirt.
