About
Las Manchas Wine Museum, set in the beautiful farmland of Las Manchas de Abajo at Los Llanos de Aridane, is located on the grounds of an old country house which used to serve as home for the schoolteachers. If you wish, you can sample a wide range of La Palma wines in the Museum, buy high quality craft products or find ouy about places of interest in the township.

4 stars for the anticipation, but unfortunately closed for holidays 5/7-1/8/2021, so all we could do was note position, as being in the same village as The Plaza La Glorieta.
Maybe next time.

Very helpful man, knows his wines and very knowledgeable. A small museum but with a wealth of information about the history and how it is produced. Also you can taste and buy wines and they have some very good ones too. A small area outside has old machinery and some of the vines on the island growing, all named. A good place to visit on this side of the island. Winter opening 9.30-4.30 during the week. Not sure about weekends. Only €1.50 each.

Small, but interesting museum about the wines from La Palma. Little garden with all grape varieties! Very nice and friendly man behind the counter, but do not expect him to know a lot about wines in general. Tasting afterwards. Recommended!

Well worth the trip if you are at all interested in wine. It's small but there is a lot of information there, on the walls and from the very knowledgeable owner. There are a number of interesting wines on the island grown in all sorts of environments and you can taste and buy.

We loved this place. Very traditional buildings around the Plaza area.Lovely church and the bells ring on the hour. The atmosphere was so nice, just locals chattering away in the cafes, the older people sat around watching the world go by. Some lovely querky shops and a few modern ones. A lovely Canarian place to visit.

This museum can be interesting if you are really interested in wine. Museum host knows everything about wine on island. On my opinion there are no exceptional wines on La Palma, but there are a few interesting. For example, "vino de tea", whicha are aged in pine barrel and of course "Malvasia dulce".

Lovely little museum about the wine industry and grape varieties of La Palma. We also got to taste a few of their local wines. We spent about half an hour here. Not an absolute must see, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood it is a nice activity.

For a very modest outlay, this museum of viniculture was interesting - although we would have been more interested in the local grape varieties, and what style/ sweetness / dryness each produced.
There was a small outdoor display of the local grapevine but as this was the season for (quite fierce) pruning, it really was not very informative.
We did try some local wines but as this was mid morning, with no food, nothing really struck us as anything outstanding - although we had really enjoyed a number of locally produced wines in Santa Cruz restaurants.

A small museum but important bit of history of the region. The history of La Palma wines historic past with a view to the future potential of the region after the volcano and disease which harmed the wines of the region. May the community continue to flourish in its current trajectory.
