Excellent overnight stay , good clean mountain refuge with great food and hospitality. Take a trip to Punta Linke beyond the summit to the west. The assent is long and arduous and should only be carried out in good weather conditions. The summit is a further twenty minutes climb and requires a head for heights. Fantastic trip one which we shall never forget.

This is just unbelievable. Trekking to the Vioz is absolutly a must do experience. Starting from Cogolo di Peio, from the Albergho Gran Zebru, where Costanzo Moreschini, our Alpin "guide" did give us all mandatory instruction to climb safely up there. Leaving at 4:30 in order to reach the Vioz and its 3,650 m by mid-day was just a crazy wonderful time. Climbing through a partial cloudy morning to reach a blue sky while approaching the top was really a continuous discovery of differents sights at each step. Finishing at the top, I even tok the time to enjoy an amazing capuccino at the Vioz lodge just 100 m below the top. Clearly my next goal will be to extend the climb next time to cross over the glacier and reach the Larcher lodge just about one or 2 days further. However I still have this Vioz climb now well stuck in my memory with wonderful views.
