Beautiful little day trip
Feb 2021
The rockpools are only a short drive away from the Coast and can be visited for 30 minutes or up to a few hours. It's lots of fun to have a swim in the pools but watch out: the water is super cold even in summer.

Om Cafe excellent
Feb 2021
Very easily accessed, directly on the side of the road. The Om cafe opposite was fantastic, amazing service and very quaint inside.

Great for a scenic drive and entertaining kids
Dec 2020 • Family
We went over the Xmas school holidays. The gold coast and Brisbane were jam packed with families trying to find something for their kids to do. The Rock pools are about 40min drive from Surfers Paradise and are a free activity. Just find a spot and go for a swim or sit by the grass. It was still busy here so get in early, it's just less busy than everywhere else that's near a beach

Rest stop
Jul 2020 • Solo
Let's be honest here; this is not a destination it is a test stop. Toilets, tables on the side of the road. It is a pretty side of the road, with a creek, trees and lawn. But not a destination. As for swimming in the water, first check out the pipe running from the toilet block into the creek. I don't know if that would put you off, but it does for me.

Hot Day Stop
Jan 2020
To be up front, this place is not wilderness, but it's a great outdoor stop--preferably en route to or from something more substantial, such as the Natural Bridge walk (since you can't swim there any more).

The main pool next to the lawn area and roadside parking is deep enough to swim in for most of its length (quite deep in the centre) and not as cold as you'd expect for a rainforest stream. There are areas apparently deep enough to jump into from high points on the steep south bank, because people were doing that, but I don't know the creek bed well enough to recommend it as a safe activity. I advised me boys not to do so. There are rope swings as a good alternative.

Natures Water slide
Dec 2019
Took my 10 & 11 yr old grandsons there. The drive up the Currumbin Valley is especially nice with lush vegetation. There is another swimming hole in the creek on the way up. When you come to the end of the road, and park your car, there is an easy 30 min walk to the end of the track and the old saw mill. Suggest you walk right to the end, then about half way back there are several places in the creek where you can have a refreshing dip. The main attraction is the 'rock slide', where you can clamber over the rocks to where the water runs down forming a natural waterslide into a rock pool below. This provided lots of fun for the boys (there were girls there too as well as adults).

Shady little spot
Oct 2019
Stopped here on our way to Currumbin Valley. Lovely spot with covered picnic tables and public toilets which were very clean. Not very disability friendly as although there’s a paved path it’s quite steep. The rock pools are lovely, you can spot turtles, different varieties of fish and the surrounding trees are full of birdlife. It’d be nice for a picnic or there’s a small cafe across the road offering pies, sandwiches, salad, dhal, chai, cold and hot drinks and cakes.

Rock Pools
Sep 2019 • Family
The area was clean and toilets available. There is a shop across the road to get food. Parking is limited. The area is best after rain as the water will be fresh and flowing. Abundant fish and turtles
